We just shut out a top ~5 offense in the second half. Minus a defensive player who's arguably the best player on the roster.

I really think that the only reason Book doesn't come back is if the job gets finished this season.

If we don't win the NC, I really hope he comes back. Then a hand off to Buchner the next year.

I also hope he comes back at some point to coach, if that's in his plans.

Yeah, it’s far more flexible. The 2012 defense couldn’t have weathered the loss of a player on Hamilton’s level.

This defense is better top to bottom. Better individuals but no weaknesses and tons of depth.

100% correct, and another example is Kapron Lewis-Moore getting hurt against Bama.

I agree this years defense is better and has more depth than 2012. I will disagree there are no weaknesses. Cornerback is a weakness on this years team, just not a glaring one. Bama will exploit this weakness and bad. Still have stuff to improve.

Another really good game for Book. 70ish % completions IIRC, good AVG. Some clutch throws. Some clutch legs.

7 of his 9 games this year have had QBRs of 80+. He's 15th in the nation in QBR going into the game, which is pretty damn good considering we don't have the most dynamic group of WRs.

And those two flips... holy cow. He's playing with more confidence than I've ever seen him play with. And only one INT so far.
