I'm drunk too... Don't worry my friend.
Haha funny, but the performance remains.

That's where I'm at. BC didn't pull the upset, but they still managed to spoil our championship hopes for a 3rd time.

Sorry guys, reality is the asshole here not the posters that realize it. This is two weeks in a row of very poor offensive performance. We can call it about a good D all we want but we had opportunities, which we did, and didn't make it happen. They watch it, just like we did. That wasn't the #4 best team in the country and that's what we're fighting for.
We've played 3 statistically good defenses, and maybe I missing one, but we haven't looked good against 1.
We weren't the #4 team in the country tonight. That doesn't mean we need to go back to the drawing board on the season.
Sorry if we seem too OK with the performance for your taste but when people are saying stupid sh*t like coaches need to be fired or that MSU/OU/Iowa are ALL going to jump us simultaneously this is the natural response.
So last year post usc game kelly said this is a pink slip day. We had injuries just like now we showed up with the towel thrown in the ring. Could u imagine if bc had any offense or if they had 2014 usc talent and we showed up like this?
I would for obvious reasons never want to fire anyone during a season , but imho we need to stop the shit shows. We are ND. Not Michigan
The CFP is supposed to reset every week. Our signature wins are garbage. It's not our fault as schedules are made years ahead of time. But wins against Texas, USC, and GT don't look like much. Our best wins are Temple, Navy, Pitt. Does that compare to beating Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan? It sure shouldn't. I'm just happy we're 10-1.

Whoa, this is fairly aggressive for my taste. I didn't personally attack anyone.
The reality is this win doesn't hold any weight. Do I love the love my team, OF COURSE. I'm a ND fam through and through. However, that doesn't make me ignorant to the process. Which is, we have looked poor after two walk on wins in two weeks.
I never said anything your assuming like coaches should be fired.
Think objectively about how silly that argument is. Just sit there and consider it for a second. Nevermind, I'm going to space it out for you.
You are saying after a win in which we played poorly,
in a season where we are ranked fourth,
and in which we have ten wins with the potential to have 11,
that we should seriously consider the firing of some position coaches (you don't say who),
because an imaginary opponent that has more talent,
would have beaten us.
This is your argument.

look man we came out flat and pathetic like 2014 usc . If that is crazy to you cool . I disagree. I feel we can win it all and that's why I hate seeing this shit. Some of the fans with battered women syndrome baffle me on how they are scared of Alabama or scared of the playoffs in case something bad happens..wtf
I'm also upset in how we played. That's totally ok because we looked mediocre tonight. But you can't be saying things like "draw a line in the sand" or "fire someone" and expect to not get some scrutiny about what you're saying.
"Draw a line in the sand" is like saying "man up" or "call better plays". It's hyperbolic fluff-speech that does nothing but confirm why coaches get paid millions of dollars and we post on message boards.
Calling for people to be fired without listing who should be fired or giving a good reason why is the same thing. Except it's even worse because now it just looks like you're throwing a tantrum.
You are right and my bold statement deserves better detail. If the current staff cannot get our players to perform they need go go. Look at football from 30000 feet. People move on and when they do players respond with a different standard it changes results. We are not talking about a one time event here. We could play alabamas opponent this week and win by 4. We could also beat Alabama by 10 .
I love this program and kelly . I just feel we are underperforming badly against pathetic opponents
People really need to watch out for this BC defense. They'll likely give us a lot of fits. It took a lot of big plays/broken plays for Clemson to hang 34 on them. Watson was hit plenty and threw 2 picks.
They are #1 in total yards allowed, tied at #9 for team sacks (31; Notre Dame is tied down at #71), #1 in total TFLs, #1 rush defense (holding opponents to an average of 71.7ypg), #2 in 3rd down percentage (.233), tied for #2 in 4th down percentage (.200), #1 in 1st down defense, #5 in passing yards allowed, #9 in team passing efficiency defense, #5 in punt return defense, and tied for #2 for blocked punts (3).
And despite their anemic offense, they still run the ball so damn much that they are in the top 50 for TOP. You have to consistently get their offense 3 and out or else they can really make almost any game a ball game with their defense and special teams play.

Your prediction of them giving us fits was right but not because of any of the stats u posted.
We went week above their average on rushing and total yards. I only recall 1 sack. Kizer had a qb eff of 124.

Geez tough crowd

So did Clemson. I didn't expect us to go below their average.
You telling me that them having a top quality defense didn't affect us? HAH. It ain't about them hitting their average. They are one of the best defenses, if not the best defense, in college football. It doesn't matter how they get ya.
The point of my OP was that they are absolutely formidable despite their record. The stats were just there to back it up. BC is freaking tough on defense, no ifs, ands or buts.

The ONLY aspect of their defense that was impressive was how well they were coached, and executed, stripping the ball. I'll also give them credit for pressuring Kizer into that one INT where he just threw it up in the middle of the field.
The two INTs at the goal line were on us. First one was an awful decision by Kizer and second one was an awful play call coupled with a poor decision by Kizer to force it.
Schematically, they were outcoached. We moved the ball at will. Kizer wasn't forced into bad throws (besides the previously mentioned INT) and WRs weren't forced into drops. We controlled the LOS.
