Lol im confused by this. I will say I thought kellys comment was a complete disrespect to a main reason his team had wins. My thinking was how bout you call out the guy you continue to start that cant even get off the los, in brown.

That is on the holder not the kicker, the holder shouldn't put the ball down in the situation, they should call "fire" and either try to run it or throw it.

With Day basically gone, as horrible as our defense and the turnover machine that our offense is, how do we not finish 7-5?


This is as bad of a team prep as I have seen at home. We looked unprepared. I know we have kids all over the place.

Heck, University of Washington has all true freshmen as CB and S and they almost beat Arizona. We get beat by NW at home. I don't want to hear the crap about too many young kids playing.

Everett isn't a kid, Cam and his fumble he is a senior. Our Oline aren't kids. Our RB is a Soph.

Why are they screwing up all over the place??? They aren't kids.

Day isn't a kid, had 1 sack and did about nothing else.

Navy/ASU/NW we looked unprepared to play. And the stupid calls by BK, total team meltdown. Maybe it was good that some of the top recruits cancelled their visits, they would have seen a horrible game.

Now it is damage control on keeping recruits. Because, I can't see us beating either Louisville or USC. Heck Navy and NW marched on us like nothing. What are next two going to do???

I am embarrassed to be an Irish Grad watching this crappy play. Now we are becoming the laughing stock of the top 25. I should say we will be out of the top 25 like most years of BK. I think we have been ranked at the end of the year only 2 times off the top of my head, I don't want him fired or anything. But, we are looking to be unprepared and that is concerning.

Yeah I dont understand it either. I see crap recruiting teams like Arkansas take Bama to the wire and roll LSU. Miss St is a team full of 2 star recruits up until last year. Arizona St hasnt had a top 15 recruit class in 10 years. Why arent our people developing? It used to be easy to blame Weis with his lack of college experience but BK doesnt have this excuse. The players just arent developing. Thats on BK.

Everyone is to blame for this disaster. Shame on Kelly for calling out his players. Reminiscent of when he called out his team saying "he did not recruit those players" post loss.

I just don't see him throwing anyone under the bus, here. He is critical of people, including himself, as he should be. He's the CEO. I don't want the guy running my organization to feel like he can't be critical of those of us in the organization. His harshest comments had no names attached to them, and I thought he made it clear that he was being careful about pointing anyone specific out. In fact, the only time I heard him criticize specific players, is if one of the reporters asked for comment about a specific player by name.

you are forgetting the impact of JUCO's. Teams like Arkansas can tank for a few seasons and then go and recruit JUCO's with the lure of immediate playing time in the SEC and become instantly competitive.

How much time do you think "students" at Arkansas spend in actual classes? Now how much time do you think that they spend getting ready for a football game? The NCAA may limit the amount of time that they are required to practice, or have team activities that are supervised by a coach, but I don't think there is any limit to how much time a "student"-athlete can spend on getting themselves, and teammates, ready for a game. Maybe someone with a better understanding of the process can clarify, but I am pretty sure that these guys are free to watch as many hours of film, without a coach present, as they want to. Why do you think that coaches are always talking about "leadership" on these teams, and the leadership of a team teaching the young guys how to win? I would bet that it has a lot to do with the coaches letting the "leadership" spend time "coaching", in the film room, during the week. Thus not counting against the 20 hour a week limit.

In the past 3 years Notre Dame has had the third most players drafted. That is all I have to say about development.

Not exactly, no. But some combination of recruiting class rankings and NFL draft rankings should at least give you a GENERAL idea of where the program stands. We're under performing against both of those metrics.

Yup, because we turn the ball over and miss/can't hold kicks. Without that we would be a top three team this morning.

The defense I have no answer for...I'm lost with that one.
