I was at this game! My 1st ND game, right in that end zone as a matter of fact.

Yes, I remember that game and play. Irish stole one that day. The guy I have given the tix to for Saturday's game was on that Army team, and remembers it clearly.
Just glad I could share the tix with an active member of the military, they deserve so much.

In '95 ND shredded #5 Southern Cal 38-10, the week AFTER beating Army on the Covington Tackle It was in October as it was played in South Bend. Three weeks after beating USC, ND's final game was against Air Force NOT Army as I had previously posted.

ND lost 2 regular season games. The Opener against NW when the center stepped backward on Paulus' foot knocking him down at NW's two yard line as time expired with ND trailing by two. The other loss was a 20 point beating by OSU in Columbus. That set the stage for Covington's game saving tackle against ND. A loss to Army would have sent ND to a minor bowl.

I was at that OSU game in Columbus. Seems like Eddie George was running wild that day, and man were the OSU fans obnoxious!! Wasn't that when Lou was recovering from neck surgery, and "coached" from the pressbox? Or was that the week prior, when they whipped the 'horns in SB?

he coached from press box against army that year...that i remember
