While there are some Miami fans that seem concerned about our run game and O line, they seem to be way in the minority. Also, they constantly bring up that WF got 37 on us, but no one says that UGA is the only other team that made it as high as 20. The other common refrain is that they should load the box and let BW try to beat you with his arm. Like that isn't how everyone else has been trying to do that to us.

I know its not the coaches, but it really is interesting how few of their fans seem to even be concerned about this game and are just trying to figure out how lopsided their win will be.

Personally, I think we could lose this one if we don't concentrate and work hard and be consistent. But I am optimistic that we will win because for the most part we have been concentrating on what we are supposed to be doing and have had a lot of consistency and growth over the season as we got more and more used to both of our new coordinators and their schemes as well as our starting QB grow over the year as he has gotten more and more starts and snaps. If we don't give into the hype and continue to grind and grit our way thru, I think we win by about 10 points.

the fans on twitter, message boards remind me a lot of their players....a lot talk and noise.....but this is to be expected from their fans because well that has always been the way they are...even in the past years when we beat them especially in 2012 when they were supposedly "back" and we hadn't seen any kind of speed like them before...what happened? we blew them out of the water because they aren't disciplined and we punched them in the mouth....this is the same type of team....ND by at least 2 TD'S

I am too. I think our opportunistic style since Elko’s arrival will benefit us. Though it always is, this game in particular needs to see us win the turnover battle, and the way their QB likes to hit receivers with opposing jerseys in it, we need to take advantage. I would also like to see a similar performance to last year in that we get tackles in the backfield. Plus, I would just like to see how we bounce back from a lackluster performance on that side of the ball. It wasn’t that bad, but it also wasn’t as fun as holding teams to under 20 either.

He actually throws a pretty nice deep ball, and we definitely need to limit the big play through the air. I do agree, however, that he isn’t the most accurate QB out there.

The funniest thing I’ve heard from the Miami side of this game is that ND is slow and they are so much faster. This ND Team is far from slow. ND has legit speed all over the field. To add to that, as far as pound for pound, ND is one hell
of an athletic team, arguably the most athletic north of the Mason-Dixon Line. And the Buckeyes, with their top 3 classes over and over, are the only competition in that conversation.

They have to predict us only scoring in the 20's so that it's a close game. They have scored in the mid-20's against the teams from a power 5 conference in every game this year with the exception of Duke which was 31. Not exactly an offensive juggernaut.

It will matter on our screen plays, but those are ineffective on their own already. They serve to simply keep the middle relatively open for Adams when he breaks through the line.

It will definitely matter if we are having trouble running off-tackle with the stretch play and Long continues to call it anyway, like against UGA.

Not too worried about that, though, as we did better getting to the edge against USC and NC State, and we also attack downhill more often now.

That's where Okwara, Hayes and Co. get those big paws up and bat the quick shit down, just like Elko has been preparing them for all week, I'm sure.

They'll be prepared for the timing and the routes on the quick throws, knowing they have to sit back to prevent Thomas from getting deep when he's on the field.

The good news is that their QB has been consistently pretty bad at doing that. Quick reads and throwing darts is turnover city for him.

If our O plays like they should, we will be welcoming the underneath stuff anyway, because we'll be up by 10 most of the game.
