No worries this Saturday no matter what color we wear.

Thought maybe this senior class could be more interesting...Gold, Black, Madonna Blues...etc.

Green....meh. FSU deserves a shade in the baby shit range of colors.

So we lose Book, we're going back to the offense that averaged less than a touchdown per quarter against Ball State, we're facing a talented team with nothing to lose, and we're wearing green jerseys.

I feel like the Blue numbers and ND logo are going to look out of place with the pants and helmet. maybe I’m wrong, if we go green I prefer gold numbers or white numbers.

Yes, but the antidote is temperatures in the 20’s and snow.

Also Notre Dame has a secret weapon. Chase Claypool is from Canada ❄️. How do you like them Apples?

But chase is from BC, so not real Canada. He doesn't even know snow.

I have a case of multiple personalities on this game.

Homer personality: Our OL will come out and put it on their backs, and BW will play like man with something to prove. Our DL will thrash their OL, have a season high sack total and also force a season high INT total.

We can't have nice things personality: Their strength (DL) makes our weakness (OL) look horrible, and BW's over reliance on 50/50 balls find homes in the arms of FSU DBs. Blackman throws for 4 TDs for the second time in two games.

I'm going with Homer Me. ND 34 FSU 20

Silly to copy the '15 Sham Series jersey scheme. I'll just wear Malik's #8 and put the $90 towards some of these UA fitted hats. Nooooice.

I'm going to assume that Wimbush has been preparing all week as QB1, which means - if past performance holds - he'll come out crisp and scripted in the first couple series and reel off a touchdown or two before the yips return.

If that's the case, and we can jump out to an early lead in the cold November night against a demoralized FSU, things should be fine. If we struggle early, could be a stressful night.

My only worry is if Wimbush makes a costly mistake early, say a fumble or interception. He doesn't seem to have the ability to put mistakes behind him. He seems to dwell on the mistake instead of moving forward.

Book, on the other hand, has Tommy Rees-like ice water in his veins. He can make a mistake early and come back and play exceptionally well, seemingly unbothered by what happened earlier in the game.

Wimbush doesn't have to be great, just solid. Score some points and trust that the defense will get the ball back.

This will be Wimbush on senior day, redemption day. He plays well and takes care of business. ND 7 penalties FSU 1. Game is sealed in the third.

Also, just remember Wimbush isn't coming in acting like the backup to Book and just getting by this game until he can come back. This is Wimbush saying here is my chance to say I should be the starter and he's gonna play lights out in an attempt to get his job back. Although I don't see it happening, that's going to be his mentality.

So they’re going to be wearing a spattering of green?

Yeah, IF only Wimbush can convert passes to him! That's MY worry!

We beat Michigan with Wimbush and without Dex.

FSU RBs average about 0.5 yards before contact.

We execute, we win.

I'm not really worried about our form on saturday. Green jerseys, senior day, BW starting, it's going to be cold. Guys are going to be fired up and ready to go no doubt.

I think another thing to consider is that Wimbush, during the Ball State game, was being forced to play like a pocket passer. It really looked like he was specifically being forced NOT to scramble and make things happen with his feet. It was really, really weird.

This week, I bet Wimbush comes out and plays not just like a man with a lot to prove as to why he should be the starter, but also freely and without limitations on whether or not he can scramble.

I'll take ND by 3 scores at least.

Really good interview with BK and Wimbush from ND's student paper, highlighting the specifics of why they're being cautious with Book, Wimbush's mindset, and comments on getting Jurkovec ready if he needs to contribute:

https://ndsmcobserver.com/2018/11/exclusive-bk-announces-book-out-wimbush-to-start-against-fsu/

Wimbush giving us the scoop that special teams is "almost there".

“A year-and-a-half under my belt, so it’s not a long time, but it’s definitely worth noting,” he said. “The team is behind me and the defense is playing superb and special teams is almost there and they’re going to show what they’ve been working on, so I’m just going to keep the offense rolling and play my game and I think everything will work out.”

Do you think he's telling the truth about him being ready for Syracuse?

BK is always overly optimistic about injuries in public comments (purposely, I'm sure), but our own IE brethren with good sources say he should be ready for Syracuse, though it might be more questionable than BK lets on.

Personally, based on everything we've heard and what sources have said, it sounds like he'll probably play against Syracuse as long as there is no setback.

Completely agree, coaching staff used that game to force him to get better as a pocket passer, it seemed obvious to me, and when he didn't we moved to book. Unfortunately it cost us looking bad against Ball state. I would be more than happy if he had a game like against BC last year. Run for 200 yards and 3 scores pass for 115 yards and doesn't turn the ball over.
