OL and 2nd safety could be downgrades from current year play but everything else should be equal or better

Denbrock would be a slam dunk hire for freeman, if you get a chance to hire the coach who had an all world offense the season before with the heisman winning QB you do it.

I snuck over to tiger droppings to see what they’re saying about it and not a single thing has been said which I find odd. As much as the ND media is talking about it you would think it would be mentioned

i think its hilarious that practically everybody wanted Kelly and all of his staff canned for virtually his entire time at ND and now one of his long term assistants is on the top of everyone's list.
THANK YOU

I feel like I've been taking crazy pills with all of this Denbrock praise. It wasn't that long ago we were lamenting his playcalling and wanted him canned. I know he just coached a prolific offense, but holy crap are people quick to forget.

I watched a lot of LSU this year hoping BK would lose but I absolutely loved their play calling. Sure it helps to have a fantastic QB but you still need to call a good game.

Same....LSU on O, was pretty amazing...as much as I hate to say it. Thank God they didn't have a half decent defense or he may have actually won a title this year.

Would be pumped…

Would then proceed to burn the whole website to the ground the first time his offense has to call a timeout to avoid a delay-of-game to start a drive or after having already burned one for the same reason.

It happened a lot in the early 2010’s!

it’s been pointed out that Denbrock is a very good recruiter so in combo with freeman it’s looking good on that front. He can pitch that he heismand.

Primary Recruiter for: Cole Kmet, Ronnie Stanley, KeiVarae Russell, Chase Claypool, Miles Boykin (also Leonard Taylor, former Cincinnati TE who is in the NFL)
Secondary Recruiter for: Equanimeous St. Brown, Aaron Banks, Javon McKinley, Will Fuller, Torii Hunter Jr., Tony Jones Jr., Jalen Guyton, Ian Book

I think Denbrock has improved, not that he was ever bad. He’s been plugging away since Swarbrick (rightfully) had BKs staff replaced after 2016. He’s experienced. He’s a Golden. He’s what we need, imo. I have no knowledge of the guy personally but I know if I spent 30 years of my coaching career in the Midwest and only one in the south and I’m 59 I’d be OK with moving back home for a few years before retiring.

I believe he also led one of Notre Dames best offenses in history if I’m not mistaken in 2014? Could be wrong on the year. The defense under Vangorder was a disaster, giving up 41 pts per game. But if I recall, Denbrock was outstanding. He’s also worked closely with Gino.

There were few cooks in the kitchen when Denbrock was OC.

You don’t think he could’ve improved at his job in the past 7 years? Shouldn’t we all be better at our jobs after 7 more years of experience and learning?

His results speak for themselves

The only official candidate named by Freeman so far is Gino. But a “national search” is underway. I won’t panic unless Gino becomes officially hired. I have to believe Freeman is too smart to take that risk.

You'd official panic if the protégé of the guy we want gets hired? Checks out

I'm not 100% sold on Denbrock personally. I think he can be great if he has the talent to work with, which is an area we've been improving in with Freeman.

He has produced some decent offenses for us the one year he was OC in 2014 (Although Golson was a turnover machine, but put up big numbers). The only teams we struggled to put points on that year were a stout Stanford squad and USC, although USC was during a late season collapse defensively, the team was mentally checked out after losing 5 of the last 6 games.

Denbrock's been a good position coach too, he probably was BK's best WR coach having success with TJ Jones, Fuller, and some others in that period. It would be his 3rd stint with ND if he did come.

I don’t typically assume that the mentee is destined to be as good as the mentor. But who knows, maybe he could be. I guess nobody knows. “Panic” was hyperbole.

Oh absolutely, I was merely also laughing that when he was here, we were calling for his head. He's clearly improved since, and he always was a good recruiter.

I still don’t get the why of this move from Denbrock, but if MF can get him that makes the expectations for next year sky high.
