Pro Football Focus being sold to analytics firm Teamworks, future on NBC is unclear

Pro Football Focus is reportedly being sold to software and analytics firm Teamworks, putting its future on NBC's broadcasts in jeopardy.

Pro Football Focus (PFF), the omnipresent player performance tracking firm owned by NBC Sports lead NFL analyst Cris Collinsworth, is being sold to software and analytics company Teamworks, according to a report by Arif Hasan in his Wide Left Substack. Teamworks is reportedly paying between $130 and $140 million to acquire the company.

The sale is moving forward after PFF initially opened itself up to private investment several years ago, securing a $50 million investment from private equity firm Silver Lake. Collinsworth purchased a majority stake in PFF back in 2014. Per Hasan, Silver Lake’s investment valued PFF at $160 million, with one source saying the company was valued at $223 million at its peak.

lol hes VP or something (nepo baby). Crazy how their valuation dropped from its highest to what they are selling for now. Presume the family still made a bag of cash off it though

I was shocked when I saw the $132m figure.

That seems crazy low.

Allen Trieu has left 247 for on3. Another big loss for them. Pretty much just have Loy and Dohn left as recognizable national guys at 247

Has anyone been listening to the II pod lately? They’ve brought up Aneyas Williams a a couple of times, and not in a good way. They’ve brought don’t seem quite sold on him as a running back, and I can’t figure out why.

When Aneyas gets the ball, all he does is score touchdowns. An argument could be made that he performed better than Price in the 2024 CFP. His catch at the beginning of the 2nd half against PSU will always stand out to me.

If their biggest reason is “well he won’t be as good as the running backs last year” then they just need to lower expectations a tad. There’s not a single RB they could’ve brought in that would’ve been the same as last year’s group.

My opinion: Not as good as who he is replacing. But a should be improved ol and Carr taking a leap will help him be 90%ish as productive

Agree. He's a good back. Love and Price were elite and very special. The fact that we had the same team was awesome. Williams will be solid for sure and excited about some of the new guys. Running game will go with oline.
