If people think Carr was the byproduct of 2 sensational RBs, I don't blame them. I'm in wait and see mode. If he believes he's arrived and doesn't work to get better, it'll be a letdown season.

One could argue that against the best defenses he faced, he threw INTs and looked less exceptional. He needs to take a step to show he can shred a defense and not make the panicked play despite the situation or pressure.

The picks against Miami and A&M were off his receivers’ hands, and should have never been picked. He wasn’t great against USC, but USC understood his ability and believed he was a threat so they sat in two-high safety all night. Very stupid but that look opened up the run game. Carr's impact on the game just doesn't show up on teh stat line.

Love and Price were a huge positive on his development and his play but they absolutely took away from his stat line and that's all these idiots look at when they compile these lists.

I think every QB on that list is at or near 400 attempts per game, and Mensah was at 500. Leavitt was on pace for 400 or more but was injured. Carr was under 300.

Love, Price, and Williams combined for 15-20 runs of 30 yards or more and more than 30 TDs. The offense was explosive on the ground, and in multiple games ND jumped on teams so quickly that Carr barely had to break a sweat. If the backs were merely great instead of elite, Carr probably finishes the year with over 3k yards and 30 TDs. Hell, he probably would have been over 3k yards if he threw the ball against Cuse more than half a dozen times alone.

Very true. I think he only had 12 attempts against Purdue and had over 200 yards. I think he showed flashes and hoping the WR helps him more this year.

The one Miami pick I’d probably put more on Denbrock.

I’m ok with it and maybe even agree. I’m probably somewhere between hater territory and typical ND rose colored lens territory.

Carr TD to INT ratio was 6:5 against 4 ranked teams in Miami, AM, USC and Pitt.

I still think he has a lot to prove.

Look up for example, Brendan Sorsby’s stats

Carr’s value go beyond basic stats, which sounds like green Kool Aid but anyone who has watched agrees. He has superior game plan and adjustment ability. It’s why the advanced analytics love him as well. For example Carr almost never takes sacks. Here is the leaderboard for P2S %:

1. Sorsby (ironic) - mobile
2. Malik Washington - mobile
3. Haynes King - mobile
4. Jayden Maiava - mobile(ish)
5. Devon Dampier - mobile
6. Chandler Morris - mobile(ish), old as shit
7. Avery Johnson - mobile
8. Robby Ashford - mobile
9. CJ Carr
10. Marcel Reed - mobile

Carr and Washington are the only non-multi year starters.

ND was Top 5 in pressure rate allowed as a team. Carr is the only P4 QB that basically was never pressured, and when he was, never took sacks. I don’t believe that’s an OL stat, that’s a Carr stat.

He sets protections at a level I’ve never seen from a ND QB and also checked us into many good run plays. For a team with a good run game, it kept us on schedule as an offense to avoid negative plays. When we were behind the sticks, Carr was near the top of the country in still getting out of those.

Don’t care your politics but Pate being spineless isn’t shocking at all

I doubt Immigration or the Economy is on the ticket of items to discuss.

Trump has made several statements on college athletics since he re-took office. I expect Pate to stay on topic with the politics involved in the future of college football.

Yeah man that’s kind of the point. It’s a PR stunt distraction to champion fixing CFB like the president of the country (any president, not an indictment on Trump) cares at all about NIL and the portal lol

Pate is a milquetoast loser who stands for nothing besides the most recent way the wind has blown.

Clickbait Pate is perfect for casuals and 30 second clips that media consumption has trended towards. This is going to send those views through the moon. So much is going to be spoken but so little actually said about saving college sports, NIL bad, sport is broken, etc, and the clips are going to do numbers.

Hosting the President of the United States amidst multiple controversies is not apolitical, no matter the topic discussed
Especially when, if history is any indicator, most of the interview will be about how Joe Brandon didn’t care about sports and was the worst president ever and wasn’t half the innocent, totally exonerated and famously generous lover that our big beautiful president is.

If the majority of revenue was based on viewership, I’d highly doubt you would turn it down.
Honestly, Pate is getting bodied in his comments. I unsubscribed myself across the board. So, there's potential damage to be done to your brand by hosting such a toxic figure on your non-political show. If I were a political interviewer, that's a different story. But for a CFB podcast? I would 100% not take that interview.

You can believe me or not, I am telling you that I wouldn't take it both from a business standpoint and more importantly, from a personal morals and values standpoint.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, I just understand his position. He is a sports “journalist” I guess? He is hated by every fan base anyway. Whether right or wrong, it’s simply for views.

Right... Nothing political will be discussed but in the first clip, Trump walks in and says Biden wouldn't be here talking about nil!!!

For someone that parroted over and over he'd never discuss politics, Pate deserves every unsubscribe and unfollow that he gets.

Trump is famous for staying on topic, so I believe Pate when he says nothing political will be discussed.

...

Pate's a lightweight who's gonna get run over in less than a minute. He's too fuckin dumb and he'll be too starstruck to steer the convo in any meaningful way. Christ, his FB takes aren't that well-formed and he's gonna "engage" ol diarrhea mouth?

Right.

From journalists I know would hate Ted Cruz politically, by their accounts Cruz actually has put in some work and is versed in the CFB topics on Capitol Hill. That would have been a more interesting interview
