Nice. Letting experienced OL leaders leave again. What could go wrong?
Soggy wet turd take. Every GD person has an opinion on roster moves. I think I'll trust Freeman and Joe to decide how they keep/build their culture and which players they should retain.

I'm sure you and others will be on the boards crying after the first sack given up, talking about how the coaches messed up.

In this day and age, you can't expect to stockpile veteran backup OLs who can get paid to go start on other good teams. It sucks, because injuries happen, but you have to put your best five out there and let the rest of the chips fall where they may.
I agree Wagner isn't THAT good, if he leaves (either to the draft or the portal) b/c he knows he'll get overtaken by Jags, Lambert or Black, OK. Schrauth I would hope comes back b/c when healthy he's a pure mauler. But, again, we'll survive.

It sucks, but really good players leaving because they’re behind great players is a nice problem to have.
Have to trust the staff.

I guess money vis a vis Wagner & NIL, but II brought up a month ago that he will have already played effectively an entire career's worth of snaps between last year and this year. It's a bit surprising he doesn't want to test the Draft waters

Circulating on Twitter is a screenshot of Prister’s weekly column Thursday Thoughts.

He said Miami deserves to be in over Notre Dame

We'll never have a coordinated media campaign to push us into the playoffs because not only do most of the national guys hate us, half of our "beat" doesn't like us either. This is why I don't waste my time on ND podcasts or any sites other than this one. Too many of "our guys" either clearly don't like us or are always trying to be "objective."

What's this? Prister not understanding the internet in 2025?

Shocking.

Knapp, Sully, Craig, Lambert, Jagusah....Black, Otting, Augustine, Those are 8 guys for 5 spots. Another 2 younger guys and freshmen could emerge. Not saying I agree, but I see the logic. If Wagner $ could go to a stud DT or WR...
I don’t get this. You should always have money to pay 8 guys. Planning on only starting 5 OL through out the year is never going to happen. You need at least 8 ready to play every year and they will all play and probably start at varying points.

The lead writer of one of NDs biggest media publications advocating against Notre Dame. You can’t fucking make this up how dumb some of these dudes are.
There are at least a few people on Twitter saying they are cancelling their subscriptions. One of them tagged Driskell, who then defended Prister for offering his opinion and scolded the tagger for tagging him, but then said he vehemently disagreed with Prister.

What makes Prister's stance worse is that he used last year's SMU team and Louisville's last 3 years' performances as reasons why Miami's 2 losses shouldn't be considered bad losses.

Note to Prister: comparatively speaking, they are bad losses and previous years' performance has nothing to do with whether or not they should be considered bad. The only playoff-caliber team with a worse loss (only one of them) is Bama against FSU. All losses aren't equal, so when you compare the losses, which a proper analysis requires, it shouldn't be hard to say Miami's 2 losses are the worst of the 12 highest-ranked teams, and can, therefore, be considered bad losses.

For a beat writer to go out of his way to advocate for ND to be left out if the final spot is between ND and Miami, which is a very possible scenario, is dumb. But his justification for doing so is even dumber.

Here's an example of a subscriber he pissed off, which includes the snippet from Prister's article:

By the "last year" rationale we beat the #4 seed in the playoffs. That should count for something .

TP is always trying to be rational. We all know he's right, but you never admit out in public in the middle of an onslaught from outside the ND bubble.
Lol I don’t think he’s right. Miami doesn’t “deserve” crap. They won by a FG against ND three actual months ago. A holistic view of both teams continues to show ND is far better, presently.

People on X and 247 are losing it. Bunch of people have canceled subs and heading towards ISD. Pristers post was insane to make.
