He was a WR too.
He literally drinks 5-6 Mountain Dews a day & admittedly spends around 14 hours a day at his computer.
Do that for 20 years & you gain 100+ pounds.
Lay off the Dew, Driskell! Drink some water and if you need the caffeine, coffee. Is Driskell in South Bend? Get out and go for walks. Run laps around the stadium and campus like Rudy!

He is in the next town, minutes from campus.
Lives across the street from Vince & one street over from where Lou Somogyi lived.

irish sports writer Eric Hanson might be even bigger than Driskell. both probably need to lay off the dew and hamburgers.

Are we really doing this right now? You guys are wild

Maybe they should ask Loy for training advice since he trains at the northwest Fort Wayne OrangeTheory…

Can someone help out this old guy? What is this in reference to? And why is Pete Sampson the lawful evil?

It's just a meme template I've seen going around. To tell you the truth, I have no clue why half the guys are where they are. The only ones that truly make sense to me are the 3 chaotic ones. Loy- chaotic good because every single prospect is going to ND, he's a good guy, works hard. Mike Beradino chaotic neutral because most people don't know him, but I remember him breaking a lot of rules on the beat (reporting on an injury, taking pics when no pics allowed etc). Driskell is self explanatory.

Goolsby gives an interview on a podcast called The Official Visit. I think focussed towards high school footballers and the process of getting recruited etc. it’s an interesting interview. He says he lettered as a freshman at ND. What does that mean?

Lettering means you checked enough boxes to get a letter so you can get a letterman's jacket like the one his friend gives him in Rudy. Probably has to do with getting a tackle or something like that.

Your boy here got his in 8th grade for wrestling. Getting one at Notre Dame is a little more prestigious lol. Our jackets were hideous so I never got one. I wear my dad's jacket sometimes for costume parties. I go as an 80's movie villain/jock. I should find my letter, could give it to one of my (future) kids or something.

Usually a minimum amount of game time played. I would think each coach has their own threshold for what it takes to letter. My son’s high school team requires 16 quarters of action in order to qualify. Of course, one play in a quarter counts.

Goolsby seems like a MFMF hater, and is using anything negative to drive home “Freeman is bad and in over his head.”

Freeman would have been doing the program a major disservice had he NOT gone out and gotten the best QB in the portal… but Goolsby thinks the program is “rudderless” and MFMF is in the headlines for all the wrong reasons because three dudes who struggled for their own reasons decided to leave.

Dude’s a boomer that probably posts on NDNation under a terribly h creative handle.
This is surprising considering he raved about the alumni weekend they put on last year for them. He seemed to be all-in on MFMF.

How would you rank, either top to bottom, or categorize in different tiers, the following Notre Dame football podcasts:

  • Locked on Irish Podcast
  • Irish Illustrated Insider
  • Blue & Gold Illustrated
  • Irish Breakdown
  • Inside ND Sports
  • Hit and Hustle
  • Onward to Victory
  • The Shamrock
  • Mike Frank's Irish Sports Daily
  • Always Irish
  • Fighting Irish Faithful
  • The Earned 5-Star
  • Pot of Gold
  • Under the Golden Dome
Any I must be listening to? Any I should absolutely skip or avoid?

Good deal. I've predominately been listening to Irish Breakdown (sans Lucky Lefty), but just noticed quite a few other podcasts available.

Irish Illustrated Insider typically has the most juice for the squeeze (no rants on attacking cover 2 in the 1997 Ohio Valley League). That said, Tim Prister is the biggest homer on the beat so, he will always pull the company line for Big ND. I love both Tim's and Pete though

The Earned 5 Star would be amazing if they could cut it down to 1 hour, and the host would let the others guys talk more. Extremely smart, well spoken and knowledgeable co-hosts, but they are not on the beat.

I sprinkle in Irish Breakdown with my daily dose of 104.5, but at times, Irish Breakdown can get too deep into the weeds. Honestly, we are so spoiled with our sports radio for a mid-major city. Hanagriff is as good as any in the business, Mascona is pompous, but brings quality substance, Ott is great if you're into gambling. We're truly lucky in that regard. One of the few positives we have!

Irish Breakdown depending on the topic, if it's their main two podcasters, and if Man-Baby is not on the rag. The second he begins his b.s., I shut it off.
