News to me that we have one who is…Isn't there a kicker on scholly who is apparently not good?
Speculating on transfers feels weird...
But this is an internet message board...
But we're speculating on kids' futures...
But the kids have more power than ever...
Given how much of the coaching staff is new, their sourcing inside the Gug probably isn't as good as it used to be. Source relationships also probably withered during COVID times. Maybe Freeman runs a tighter ship, too (Remember the secret QB visits during bye week? No one saw Minchey coming either).Let's talk the ND beat for a moment. They were way wrong about Cam Hart and completely scooped and caught off guard by the Drew Pyne news.
Josh Bryan, hasn't played all year. Played 1 game last year and converted 1 XP versus Georgia TechNews to me that we have one who is…
Not just that... they had no clue about Minchey or that Buchner is practicing. 3 days before the Minchey news went official, they were saying ND had no plan at QB in 2023... and then after it went official, they were pretending like they knew all along.Let's talk the ND beat for a moment. IB said on one of their Youtube shows that they think the staff will bring in a transfer kicker.Josh Bryan, hasn't played all year. Played 1 game last year and converted 1 XP versus Georgia Tech
Vinson is backAny long snappers?
Is there still a younger long snapper on scholly? We may have too many wasted schollys on specialists, if you have more than three total (P, K, and snapper) that is too many and wasting spots we need for other position depthVinson is back

I bet it's pretty difficult for them right now. The only staff members that have been around for more than a couple years are Tommy and Harry. I can't imagine Harry is very chummy with beat reporters and Tommy seems to have a few guys he talks to but they seem to be more national than local. The ND beat writers most likely all lost their main contacts over the last 12-18 months. Not just that... they had no clue about Minchey or that Buchner is practicing. 3 days before the Minchey news went official, they were saying ND had no plan at QB in 2023... and then after it went official, they were pretending like they knew all along.
Its been a rough couple of months for the guys on the beat.
And it turns out that Freeman likes to hold info really close.I bet it's pretty difficult for them right now. Are you Mike Frank? 👀And it turns out that Freeman likes to hold info really close.
The danger to the program then is that if the reports won't originate from real contacts with guys inside the program, reporters will hustle up contacts from outside the program. ND would then lose its ability to drive narrative and reporters will lose interest in reporting ND's side if ND only releases self-serving information.
I've no idea. I don't listen to these podcasts. But might it have anything to do with the fact that our starting QB just bailed before the bowl game? I could see how that might be a little problematic in the locker room right now, even if moving on from Pyne is clearly the right decision in the long termWhat are the "locker room problems" Driskell is darkly alluding to here in the first 10 minutes of the podcast? Kinda lame he won't name names and specific issues so was wondering if anyone here had the dirt.
Was hoping the bump gave good news about a ew QB, or possibly securing commitments on defense.... and,......... we are still talking about Pyne.Oh! Latest II pod answered a question why ESPN's Pete Thamel got the Pyne transfer scoop and not them.
1. Sampson: Pyne family told Thamel because they didn't like how he was covered during the season [by the local guys]. "I think they were overly sensitive to some of the things [said] about him" (!)
2. Prister: "When Thamel breaks a story, it usually comes from higher up the echelon." Half-stated/implied AD office level of FB program told/confirmed Thamel about Pyne leaving.
So that was fun.
TBF, I do think this was an open ended question a lot of people had. Seemed really strange that Thamel broke the news before a local beat with the resources ND has.Was hoping the bump gave good news about a ew QB, or possibly securing commitments on defense.... and,......... we are still talking about Pyne.
if you come back after a couple more pages are added, we will all be at Irsay discussing how bad of a coach Tommy is while arguing over if we should dip French fries in mayonnaiseWas hoping the bump gave good news about a ew QB, or possibly securing commitments on defense.... and,......... we are still talking about Pyne.
