The homer broadcast team can be for an alt feed on Peacock or something. Stick Mike Golic Jr, Jac C, Jessica Smetana etc on there

I'm in favor of Smetana being on my screen at any time. She could even comment on the game occasionally if she felt like it.

I'm in favor of Mayock... but I don't think Brady Quinn being a little friendly towards ND would feel too gimmicky, unless he had zero sense of self control or timing. It would be nice to know that opposing fans are annoyed for a change, rather than our own lol.

I love Brady and maybe its part of his schtick on the Fox studio show b/c he’s outnumbered by the SC guys, but when ND is the topic he’s ALL ND regardless when I’ve watched him. That’s ok on a show like that but on a weekly broadcast it’ll get old. Holtz did the same thing w/ Mark May. His schtick was all ND regardless of reality. Both make for “good” tv and I’m sure both were/are being told to play it up. Don’t need that in the booth though. I’m ok w/ ND homer but to the point of embarrassment. Ryan Harris does a good job of that the few times I’ve heard his broadcast. TV probably wouldn’t allow as much as an ND broadcast b/c radio is, by nature, more homer. Not saying BQ can’t adjust...just don’t want the ND “is the greatest can’t lose team” all the time.

I'm just fine with a Notre Dame sympathetic "bias" on Notre Dame football.
Quinn is in no way too bent-out-of-shape that he won't report accurately.
I don't want announcers who rush to doubt every ND-favorable ref's call.
... Notre Dame football is not an "equal time for shade-throwers" job opportunity;
bring in some asshole like Keyshawn Johnson if one wants that ---
well maybe that's over the top excess --- I'll tone it down to a swipe at Flutie.

I have a feeling they wanted Brees to push the envelope more like Romo and he wasn't comfortable doing it. Kinda wonder if Brady is going to run into the same issue. He seems so businesslike that he will refrain from shitting on anyone.

I know there was some talk a few weeks ago that Garrett COULD replace Tirico, but I didn't think it was anything more than rumor still.
As far as Jac, I thought that was the first mention of him taking over for Brees.
Not sure if either is still anything more than rumor.

Not that it really matters, but you have it backwards. Collinsworth would replace Tirico (play by play) and Garrett would replace Brees (color). At least that is what their roles have been in the USFL
