5*, committed for a year. RT @gkketch: OB has confirmed that A'Shawn Robinson informed Texas coaches he will sign with Alabama on Wednesday.

Should help them get close to that number 1. Especially if they land Liner and Kamara

Wow Bama is taking the recruiting world by storm this year. I hope Ev see us as earlier playing time as well as a program continuing to be on the rise.

ND up to #3 on Rivals Ranking, actually #2 on Average Stars, 3.92, trailing only the SC Dozen in that area.

Come enrollement time, ND might well be the #1 Class. UA and OSU don't have a high success rate with LOI v Enrollment.

Good Work by The Kelly Team!

Yep can't qualify academically to get into the school.

In 2008 Bama had the #1 class on signing day, ND #2. During the spring some of the bama recruits couldn't get in and it bumped ND to #1.

Many teams lose signed recruits between now and when classes start in September to a variety of reasons. There always seems to be some h ighly touted recruit that gets drafted by MLB and choses that instead of college. A few don't graduate HS. More will be lost to JUCOs because the recruit didn't have adequate test scores, ACT or SAT, to go along with his NCAA required core courses GPA. Some of these kids haven't even taken a Test yet. Others will be lost to JUCO's because they didn't have the necessary Core Courses or have a high enough GPA in them. Some like Tee Shepherd at ND last year will run into a transcript problem due to changing high schools and not taking the proper classes or getting deficient grades in some of those courses and the second school accepted them when the recruit should have retaken the course.

Some schools like UA, grayshirt, deferring the recruit's enrollement/scholarship until the Spring Semester. Those recruits get counted now by the recruiting service because they signed a National Letter of Intent but come next September won't be enrolled so they won't be on the team's roster.

ND rarely loses a recruit between NSD and September for those reasons as ND a few other school like Stanford and a few others have stricter academic standards and due a more rigorous job of evaluating recruits as students than the football factories do. That's a prime reason ND consistly had a high graduation rate.

I would not be surprised if over the next few months you read about one or two or more UA, OSU, etc recruits get dropped from their list. It's been the norm not the exception.

On ESPN, we're #4 behind Bama, Florida, and OSU.

On Scout, we're #4 behind Bama, OSU, and scUM.

On Rivals, we're #3 behind OSU and Bama.

On 247, we're #3 behind Bama and OSU.

This is based on TOTAL TEAM POINTS. If you adjust for average rating per player, we're in the top 2 in every site I believe.

AWESOME!

And, ND has 1 fewer player than 2 of them (O$U and Ala.) and 3 fewer than the other 2 (scUM and Fla.). As an aside, Georgia brought in 32 this year because they couldn't be outdone by the newbie to the conference TA&M with 32.

Nice article by Rivals explaining the current class rankings and projecting where teams will finish.

Rivals.com Football Recruiting - Numbers game: Projecting the top 25 classes

NO. 5 - NOTRE DAME - 15 commits, 1,755 points, 3.67 average

What Mike Farrell says: "This is the best quality class in the country right now and they have really taken advantage of the momentum from the BCS title game appearance. With the academics that have to be factored in with Notre Dame, I don't think they will be able to get in a big enough class to really close in and claim that top spot. However, there is no doubt that they should contend for a top-five spot."

What the numbers say: This class could fall a few hundred points below what happened last year, but it could still be good enough for a repeat of the No. 3 class. The average-per-recruit rankings could have the class falling between No. 2 and No. 7 as those numbers fluctuate more than point totals because of how the bonus scale is arranged. There are teams behind Notre Dame with more room to add players, but with two five-star players already in the class, there is a firm base. The top end is likely to be a No. 3 ranking with a bottom of No. 6.

If we can end up at 6 with no post signing day bullsh*t, I'd take that any year.

And the BCS bowl wins and title runs that are sure to come along with sustained recruiting like that...

only eight 4* players now on 247, six 3*. When you go and look at the players and see who got a drop, it shows the same as before.. anyone got an explanation?

I have no idea where to post this so I will ask here.

How many of our current class and/or targets are EE candidates? There does not seem to be too many 5th years coming back either.
