Siap. A 3 year deal according to twitter posts I'm seeing.
Perfect, if true.

Bilal is the softest player relative to talent of all time. Watching him lollygag around on defense, I'd be surprised if elko can do anything with him but I hope he turns into a player.

That appears to be the standard if you want to get a top notch coordinator. LSU just gave new OC Matt Canada a three year deal.
I read up on Elko's 4-2-5 on 247 and it sounds pretty nasty. The linebackers line up on the line of scrimmage with lots of gap overloads and Mke/Sam twists. There's a rover position that I'm sure Tranquil could thrive in. Pressure is dialed up all over making it impossible for the O to know where it's coming from. Very aggressive. Has flexibility to apply the 4-3 when needed. This is the type of D we need that will allow our athletes make plays. The Mime - Nyles- is the lynchpin of the defense and 247 says expect him to blitz a lot and have a BIG year.
IM PUMPED
GO IRISH
Good get by Jack and BK.
Withholding full-throated WAHOOO until I see the composition of the staff.
Hoping they keep all defensive staff, but move Elston, maybe to ST's. He stays on as RC, maybe he gets a designation like AHC or something. Elko brings in Clark Lea as LB's coach. This would be my ideal.
Too much turnover and I worry we lose the defensive recruits. The recruits love Tood Lyght. And Ewell seems tied to Gilmore. I wouldn't mess with that.
Plus, I think Lyght did a good job once BVG was gone and Gilmore has quite the track record, last year not included.
I would like to see 2 holdovers though. I hope there is a spot for Elston and Lyght on his staff.Good get by Jack and BK.

Grade: C+
Sanford wanted out of Notre Dame and made an excellent pitch to WKU, which is a spot where he *should* have immediate success. The offensive transition should be seamless, but is Sanford ready to helm a program with expectations?

BVG might have won with 15 players.
Might have.
I was under the impression that he was bringing DL coach Dave Cohen with him. I think they have history together. Elston would remain LB coach. Our current LB's love Elston and he did a good job with them.
Seems like a decent hire, on board.

Can someone make an argument For Gilmore's track record? I wouldn't bat an eye if he wasn't extended and Elko brought someone new. But maybe I'm underselling gilmore.
