We have a thread about the stupid things our wives say & do. Sometimes they do or say things that make us realize just how blessed we are to have 'em, though.
Other than 3 weeks in Oct./Nov. I've been off work the past 8 months taking care of my wife & family, getting my wife through a major surgery, 4 follow-up surgeries, 16 weeks of chemo, and being the chief cook, maid, appointment secretary, pill dispenser, nanny, chauffeur, and everything else. She's now almost completely recovered and I'm finally going back to work on Tuesday.
Yesterday she went shopping. When she got home she asked me to unload the car for her. When I opened the trunk I was stunned. There, with a big red bow around it and a beautiful card on top, was my dream guitar: a Gibson Custom Shop faded cherry sunburst '59 reissue Les Paul. I've dreamed of owning something like this for years. This is an EXACT reproduction and as close as you can get to an actual '59 without bankrupting yourself (an actual original '59 in good shape will set you back at least half a million bucks). She made sure she knew exactly which one I wanted, got all the right features, and ordered it for me last week.
She told me how much she appreciated all I'd done to get her and our family through the past 8 months and that this was my reward. My wife is THE BOMB!
