I thought Tea Leoni was great in that movie. She looked great, too. That was peak Nick Cage time. He was making movies and spending more money that he was making.

Vision Quest and All The Right Moves were my first sports movies as a kid. There haven't been too many mainstream wrestling movies other than Vision Quest.

Yeah, I loved Vision Quest. Probably why I won’t rewatch because I’m worried it will suck.

Props to whoever suggested IT welcome to Derry.

I'm hooked and I absolutely HATE clowns. Still have not watched the original with Tim Curry and he's one of my favorite actors.

Loved Vision Quest. Modine’s teammate w/ the mohawk also played Jake in “16 Candles”.

My HS football coach had us watch Vision Quest as a team & then the coaches paired us off by size & wrestled…LOL

a few of you recommended this. Great call. Now I have to watch the original.

Just watched “Caught Stealing” an action/adventure on Netflix starring Austin Butler.

Didn’t know what to expect & ended up enjoying it.

I'd watch Emily Blunt read a phone book.

Watched Mission Impossible The Final Reckoning. Not bad, not great. Glad I didn't pay to see it. It was really hard to believe Cruise could survive swimming in the Artic for more than 10 minutes. Especially when he was swimming underwater with no wet suit. The plane scene also seemed to drag out longer than it needed to.

Wife suggested a movie the other night called ”The Feast of the Seven Fishes”
Based on an Italian Catholic family in Western PA in 1983 and how they celebrate Christmas each year. Good watch and definitely had the mid 80s esthetics.

I've never posted here, but since I just watched it again on HBO for like the 6th time, I would highly recommend "Atomic Blonde" (2017) with Charlize Theron.

Just a great movie taking place at the every end of the Cold War, just as the Berlin Wall is about to come down. Constant fight scenes and Charlize always fights her way out; and a great ending.

And best of all, a great late 80's new wave soundtrack. The movie is my top set of movies that I can drop into at any point in the movie and just start watching it, even if it's my 10th time watching it like Last of The Mohicans or Braveheart.

I highly recommend!

I seem to be the lone poster that thinks IT welcome to Derry just sucked. I forced myself to finish it as I invested time and hoped it would get better. It had a few moments but overall felt like a Stephen King HBO money grab that didn’t live up to the intriguing trailers and 6 month build up. The two movies both better. Acting was mostly amateur hour.

If you haven’t seen it check out Hot Fuzz.

You aren’t the only one, I watched the first 4 episodes and it just didn’t pull me in.

Some of the writing was bad. EG the blackspot fire episode was particularly trash. I could have written a better script while taking a dump. Overall, I talked myself into liking it and hoping there is a second season that is an improvement.

Wake Up Dead Man is a surprisingly compelling religious film hidden in Rian Johnson’s murder mystery style.
Came in here to see if anyone else had seen it. It’s clear Rian Johnson was comfortable muddling Catholic aesthetics with American Protestant stuff, and I was grumbling to myself how none of the confessions depicted in the movie bothered with Absolution. He saved it for the end, what a great decision.

Also really enjoyed Wake Up Dead Man. Thought it's "solution" was a little too convoluted but it made sense when I walked it back. Best is still the original but I could watch a hundred of these and not mind it. Rian seems to enjoy making them and Craig is a fantastic vessel to see all this zany stuff through. I also enjoy how Craig's reputation as real-life Sherlock Holmes has been a major element of every story.

I really liked Wake Up Dead Man.

I remember hearing that song on the U2 Pop album and immediately knowing the meaning of the lyrics was Bono basically saying the world is fucked and Jesus Christ needs to show himself now to save it.

Great tie in and Daniel Craig was awesome as always.

If that rings your bell, watch Cold Mountain. Fast forward to late in the movie. The scene where her husband (Jude Law) is hiding in a cabin and she goes there to meet him. One of the great "ass" scenes in cinematic history.
Better than Sherri Moon Zombie in House of 1000 Corpses?
