I’m a huge mob flick fan, one of my fans genres, Once Upon a Time in America is the only well know mob movie I have not watched from start to end. I’ve only caught a few pieces over the years,... need to fix that soon.
What's your favorite? I'm all about Angels with Dirty Faces. It has everything you want in an old-timey movie. James Cagney as a mobster, 1930s child actors doing New York accents, Humphrey Bogart as a mob lawyer, and a priest. All the best mob movies have a good priest.

I’m less original... I could watch Goodfellas over and over... very few I don’t enjoy though, Scarface would be one of the few I’m not enthralled with.

Hard to top Goodfellas and Godfather 1 and 2.

Scarface (assuming you're talking about Pacino's movie), to me at least, isn't a "mob" movie. It is one of my all time favs though, bad Cuban accent an all. If you want to include it in the Mob genre, it would be in my top 5.

"I always tell the truth... Even when I lie. " So many great quotes from that movie.

My tops (modern - 60s+)

Godfather 1
Godfather 2
Goodfellas
Once upon a time...
Mean Streets
A Bronx Tale
Casino
Donnie Brasco
Milers Crossing
The Departed
Carlito's Way

My youngest was all about seeing Bubblebee so. Took her to see it... it wasn’t nearly as bad as many of the other recentTransformer films... decent enough for what it was.

I mean it was pretty awesome... I didn't get up for any of the other ones. For the Lion King tho,... I'm sitting there watching football with my family, stuffed, drinking... enjoying life and the trailer hits... took me totally off guard for one(I had no idea it was being made and if i did know I had forgotten) , it's an all time fav for two, and the moment in general was pretty cool, my nieces, nephews, daughters, wife, and brother in law were all like, "WHOAH!!!" I was a pretty cool moment. I almost certainly won't see it in theaters tho.

That moment tho:

Your dog is incredible. I have a female English Bulldog and she is the greatest pet Ive ever had. Wouldn't trade her for anything.

The picture I stole from elsewhere, my dog UND Mackie looks just like that tho.

She’s easily the best dog I’ve ever had. I had a black cat named Timon for the first 8 or so years of my marriage, that cat was other level loyal. UND is way up there tho. Love bulldogs.

Watched Bird Box on Netflix last night, very similar to The quiet place but different at the same time. Was very surprised how good it was. Except for the ending

Saw “Holmes & Watson” tonight. Was expecting the mindless, sophomoric humor I enjoyed in “Talladega Nights” & was sorely disappointed. Worst movie I’ve seen in a long time. Can’t recall one funny scene or line. Just horrible.

Has anyone introduced you to Sherlock? Racing has been evolving in the minds of us boys for a lot less time..<iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/xhVG5XCqX4QEM" width="480" height="223" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed" allowFullScreen></iframe><p><a href="https://giphy.com/gifs/sherlock-holmes-xhVG5XCqX4QEM">via GIPHY</a></p>

I watched it last night. Thought it was good but I would have liked some closure at the end and an explanation as to why some people could see.

Been very behind on the MCU and finally got to Infinity War last night. I'm really impressed that they were able to juggle such a huge cast and none of the characters felt under-served. I had a major issue with the volume though. I usually watch TV on volume setting 18 on my TV. I had to turn it up to 24 to hear any of the dialogue and down to 12 to not be blasted out of my couch during action scenes.

Yeah I went Christmas evening with my gf we agreed that it was probably the most disappointed we've been going to a movie in a long time. I love Will Ferrell and John C Reilly, especially together, but this one was a major, major bust. Don't waste a penny on it, literally not even worth watching if you were offered free movie + Popcorn.

Many articles saying that fans were walking out and bashing the two of them.

Not for me b/c I laughed out loud at Talledega Nights so that was the ceiling. I expected the floor to be Step Brothers so I reasoned it was worth spending money on if that’s the worse it could be. I mean we ain’t talking Shakespeare...just do your stupid skits & make me laugh...but that was piss-poor.

Exactly, obviously Will Ferrell isn't for everyone but he usually cracks me up.

Wasn't expecting an Oscar for the movie but I was expecting a few laughs. I barely even chuckled at any point.

Saw The Mule. I wouldn't have chosen it but Eastwood's character is based on a guy from my hometown and my girl's mom is visiting for the holiday's and knew him. Would much rather have seen Vice. Speaking of which, my girl's mom thought Chaney was being played by Chevy Chase after watching the previews. lol

Christian Bale is the king of body morphing to get in character.

free movie + buttered popcorn would have done the trick.

Meh. I probably would have been completely disappointed had it not been for the hometown tie in. That made it interesting for me. Being changed from Michigan City to Peoria in the screenplay and then shot in Georgia gets a big, sucks from me.

Watch it on Kodi or Bluray down the road.

Might be one the most disturbing movies I've ever watched.

An American Crime

Silvia Likens. I was thirteen when this happened. I remember this very well as this occurred just a couple blocks over from where I lived. It was all over TV and the newspapers.

Her parents were carnies and left her and her sister with Gertrude Baniszewski. If I remember correctly they didn't know Gertrude Baniszewski very well.

To bring the level back up a couple of notches...re-watched "The Man Who Knew Too Little" with Bill Murray over on Netflix. Personally I love that one and always felt it was one of his better comedy performances as in this one he doesn't play the smug know it all winking at the audience to get us to laugh with him.

Times were different then. and I'm sure the movie made light of that. I guess we all have become a bit soft to what really happened in our past. It's tough to watch such complete disregard for human life from children.

How different were they from today? From a human element I don't think that much. We still see stories today of abductions, kids being kept in closets, etc.. What is different is the expansive media coverage compared to back then.

Just sad to see how someone (especially a female who is supposed to possess the maternal instincts) would continue to torture someone over a period of time and also allow her kids to participate. I always wondered what kind of conversations her and her sister had during that time.

Watched Tag with Jon Hamm, Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms and Jake Johnson. Based on a true story where former HS classmates get together every year to play tag, trying to get them while they're working, asleep at home, getting married, ect. There were a few funny moments, but I would wait until you are completely bored before watching.
