Watched Inside Llewyn Davis, which is on Amazon Prime right now. Easily one of the best movies of the past decade.

Watched "Cargo", a new netflix original that just came out. I like the main character, it had ratings, it was free - why not.

Zombie movie that I did not enjoy. Maybe it's just me.

It left me with a hollow feeling. It was terribly sad to see people make such critical errors when they have a child to look out for.

It was nice to end it with the baby making it to an indigenous group of people but the child's parents are now blood thirsty zombies.

Weird flick.

Also, I saw The Incredibles 2. Good, not great, definitely worth being told, but doesn't rise to the greatness of the first one.

Went and saw Jurassic World last night. Terrible movie (as expected) but a fun watch.

like the motange in Up is like 2 mins or so long but Coco is much more prolonged and powerful

The beginning of Up is closer to 10 minutes and is one of the most brutal sequences in film history, so I don't know where you're going with this whole "Coco is more powerful". Coco is great, but Up it is not

I've been on a Clint Eastwood movie binge the past few months. I watched Gran Torino again last week for about the 6th time. Something about that movie just speaks to me. I never get tired of it.

Love GT... A running gag in my wife's family is me playing the role of Eastwood during the holidays and asking them all for "some more of that good gook food..." My father in law is the best, his first response to all that was telling his daughter, "Tell that husband of yours to stop calling you 'gook'... you're not a gook. ....... you're a flip!"

Just watched Black Panther. Was OK... certainly not bad by any stretch... but not as remarkable as I was expecting based on reviews.

That's a movie I always have a hard time not watching if I'm in the house doing chores. The reading of the will is one of my all time favorite scenes. The barber shot scene still makes me LOL.

Ha! My wife & oldest daughter watched GT with me a couple of months ago and when Eastwood tells the guys, "Ever notice how you come across somebody once in a while you shouldn't have fucked with? That's me." they both started laughing and saying stuff like, "There's your dad!" "I know, right?" :) Walt's my hero. Definitely me in 20 years.

Suspiria was my flick.... that music is like the creepiest stuff ever.

Suspiria is the greatest horror movie of all time. I don't know anything about the remake, but man, the original was out of this world. Also, slightly unrelated, but the witch-house group that I assume is based on the movie is pretty good, too - Mater Suspiria Vision.

I watched Thunderbolt And Lightfoot for the first time ever this week. It was a lot better than I'd expected. George Kennedy's character was great. Bridges already had some acting chops even back in the early 70's. The crazy driving dude with the raccoon in his car and all the white rabbits in the trunk made me laugh. Not the strongest script, but great acting all around and it was definitely worth watching.

I agree. I'm almost never the rant about PC culture guy, but Black Panther was blown way out of proportion simple due to the characters race. BP was like a really solid 7. Completely passable, but very meh.

Killmonger was good but under used. People putting him in the same category with TDK Joker and Thanos are crazy.

There was also some glaringly bad CGI. Specifically the final fight on the railroad thing looked like garbage.

Also am I the only one that couldn't stand Shuri? She was annoying, none of her jokes landed, and she never earned the super genius scientist lady image the movie and Infinity War kept trying to force.

You're going to school Tony Stark and Bruce Banner? Mmmkay.

Exactly. First half of the movie is OK, even if a bit boring. Some of the dialogue seemed a little forced (like the "what are those!" line). The action and cinematography were OK, the characters were certainly good for the most part. No major plot problems. I enjoyed it like I enjoyed Thor or Spiderman.

But I expected to be "wowed" and watching the greatest MCU movie of them all. I think if there had been more Michael B. Jordan and/or he hadn't been snuffed out so quickly after finally making some power moves it would've been better... what made the Joke in TDK so good was that he was ever-present from start to finish... Killmonger spends the first hour of the movie in the background making moves (which is fine) so his direct conflict with T'Challa is only half the movie.

The remake is by a guy who knows how to direct beautiful scenes. I'm looking forward to it.

The Suspiria talk has me wondering, did anyone have a chance to watch The Witch (looks like VVitch)? One of the best horror movies I've ever seen and really goes all the way in a manner I didn't expect.

Saw it around the time it came out down in Florida. The goat was creepy as shit. Saw it with a bunch of people and we were quite buzzed, so always wanted to watch it again.

Yes the VVitch was fucking awesome! It's unreal that it was the directors first film. His second comes out next year. It's a black and white horror film starring Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe called "The Lighthouse". I'm super pumped for that.

If you liked The VVitch I'd highly recommend you go catch Hereditary before it's out of the theaters. It's very similar in terms of atmosphere and hair raising imagery. Two of the best horror movies in recent memory. A24 is just killing it.

Took the day off, went with the wife to see “Tag.”

I’m glad I watched it, and was mostly entertained, but I was also underwhelmed.

It was not nearly funny enough - or ridiculous enough - for the premise to fully work. I understand they were embellishing off of a real story, but they needed to doll it up more since they changed the story enough as it was.

There were funny parts, and there were ridiculous parts, but not enough of it landed to make you consistently laugh.

Even the impactful moments that should have been touching or hard-hitting felt out of place because of how the humor and outlandish situations had been handled earlier in the film.

Even the characterization missed the mark, and they missed some great comedic potential. Isla Fisher played the very supportive and terribly competive spouse of Ed Helms... her role should have been so funny, considering her competitive spirit and the frustration she should have felt at not being able to actually help play the game, but it just kind of fizzled with some half-hearted “look how crazy she is!” moments.

I’d give the movie a C-

It was funny enough and ridiculous enough in spots to not be a total waste... but there was a lot of wasted potential, too.

Finally broke down and watched Deadpool.

It was very good and quite funny. The opening had me cracking up with Juice Neetons 'Angel'. I just wish they had toned down the vulgarness by about 10%.

American Animals!!!

It's so good. I'm a sucker for a good heist movie, but this went beyond that. I loved LOVED the blend of docuseries elements with the rest of the story. Casting was spot on. Great performances throughout. Totally blown away.

This is a lock for a best adapted screenplay nom at a minimum.

Going back and re-watching the Mission Impossible movies before the new one comes out. Just finished 1 and 2. They're fine, not great. Maybe I'm being unfair since the first one is over 20 years old and I shouldn't really compare it to today's films.

Also recently watched Rampage. No surprise, it's f'ing stupid. The Rock's charisma couldn't save that pile of shit. I admit I enjoy big dumb action movies from time to time. I didn't have high expectations. I knew what I was getting into, but holy shit, this was dumb. The marketing for the movie depicted Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a villain. He wasn't. He was a less vulgar Negan, but not a villain. It's like the director told him to just be Negan. Maybe that's all he does as an actor. The real villains were laughably bad. Spoiler Alert for those who haven't seen it and want to (don't): the big white ape gets to find a new home at the end of the movie after killing probably hundreds of people. Sorry, no. F that. That thing needs to die. I'm getting more irritated as I write this so I have to stop here.

MI:1 = solid film, not great
MI:2 = OK, but worst of the lot for me, too much style for style sake
MI:3 = good movie, good story, well paced
MI:4 = my favorite, liked the addition of Renner, great action scenes
MI:5 = good movie, great action, but villain was played annoyingly
MI:6 = Looks pretty good, but can't trust trailers, I like Cavill for some reason (see Man from UNCLE and Immortals if you get the chance) and the fight scene with him from the trailer looks like it might be cool

Watched Chappaquiddick a few days a go. Good, not great. Definitely worth a watch if you have interest in the Kennedy family.

I've been very curious since the producer claimed that some powerful DC and Hollywood folk tried to kill the movie.

It did drive me to read up on the facts of the case. As a Catholic kid born in the 70s who grew up idolizing everything about the Kennedy family,,,,, the more I learn, the sillier I feel.

Rosemary Kennedy's story is like something out of a horror movie
