I binged on "Stranger Things" on Netflix and it was really good. The 80s movie inspiration was all over it, but it wasn't handled in a cheesy way. I highly suggest it.

I also knocked out season one of "Bosch" and am chomping at the bit to get onto season 2. It's a great show for those who like police procedurals. I've always liked Titus Welliver. I remember him being a stand-out way back on "Brooklyn South."

As for movies, has anyone seen the new Jason Bourne flick? If so is it worth a ticket or should I wait for Blu-Ray?

Anyone watch Marcella on Netflix. I have been binging on it. Pretty standard British detective show but there are some unique aspects and the acting is great.

Father of the Bride is a great movie.
Romancing the Stone
Any movie at all w Salma Hayek

Love Father of The Bride.

I would add The Notebook and Bridges of Madison County.

Chick flicks?

1. Mean Girls - IDC what ya'll say, that's a hilarious movie.
2. Love Actually - because Christmas, just like Grey said. Also, Snape, Watson, and Qui-Gon Jinn.
3. This Means War - Another hilarious movie. Love Chris Pine and Tom Hardy. I "complain" when my wife wants to put this dvd in.
4. The Ugly Truth - because Leonidas is funny
5. Clueless - because I grew up in love with Alicia Silverstone

I'm actually embarrassed, because I could put 4 or 5 more chick flicks that I really like on that list haha.

Don't forget Charmin-soft Rick Grimes:

Imperium was intense. Harry Potter shaved his head and in an instant he broke through being typecast as a prepubescent wizard. Took Ed O'neil over a decade to not be seen as Al Bundy; impressive.

If you can stomach all the white power bullshit, it's a good flick.

I just watched it...Ehhhh..It left a lot of questions and characters just dropped off.

Watered down American History X

But really neat story.

Of all possible topics that a book or movie can have, quite possibly the least appealing option for me with any kind of mass appeal is, "Bunch of English kids go to wizard school"... never have and almost certainly never will read a page or watch a minute of anything Harry Potter.

Actually, I'm lucky.

My wife hates chick flicks.

If I had to pick one, it would be from the 80's... 16 candles or Dirty Dancing, or the like

I actually really like Pretty in Pink.

My wife sat me down to watch it like five years or so ago and I expected it to be pulling teeth... it's cheesy and the class warfare stuff is way over the top, but it just works all together in that film. I also love Ducky's dance to Otis Redding. "That's Otis, I love Otis."

Personally, I think there is a difference between chick flicks and rom coms (romantic comedies). Something to the effect of some rom coms are chick flicks but not all. Some rom coms take into account the male audience and thus you get Gerard Butler in the Ugly Truth, but then again you get Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seatle and I think you are more in chick flick territory. Now if you full on Steel Magnolias, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Fried Green Tomatoes, etc...you are deepinthahearta chick flick territory.

Pretty in Pink is another one. Good stuff those 80's movies

"Terminator, Genysis." Very different, and much better than I thought it would be. Give it a shot.

Josie and the Pussycats

Wife had the remote, but I appreciate looking at Rachal Leigh Cook for an hour and a half.

Been watching family movies with the kids to get in the mood for fall and the build up to Halloween,... In the last week we've watched Gremlins, Hocus Pocus, Sleppy Hallow (Disney), and now watching Goonies...

Just got home from 'Don't Breathe'. It's alright, nothing special like these raving reviews are giving it. Might be worth a see if you like suspense.

If the kids are of age for the Goonies I highly recommend the series "Stranger Things" on Netflix. Lots of Goonies and ET vibes.

Probably discussed when it came out, but I recently watched the new Point Break. Could have been the worst movie i have ever see.

Just horrible.

I so freakin love the original... whenever Patrick Swayze is brought up my wife and I have to re start our debate on his best movie(s)... I don't know what's wrong with her but she's not a Point Break fan...

You must have seen it on tv like me. Ha.

Yeah, some nice cinematography, but the acting and plot could not have been any worse. The dude even talked like Keanu Reeves, which was weird, since that isn't acting. Reeves just talks funny. Outside of that, probably the worst movie I've seen in a long time.
