Your point about the multiple combinations/rehashing of super hero stuff, I completely agree. I haven't watched any other 'comic book' movies in the past 10-15 years. The volume of content being produced right now might have something to do with it (that and the guaranteed revenue). Not really, but whether or not I like a particular movie isn't really the point. How many different Batman/Joker movies can we do? Does the Oscar winning historical epic where the main character dies at the end need a numbered sequel?
It's all just so hackneyed and try-hard. I don't know how else to describe it. Feels creatively bankrupt in a way that falls below my lowest expectations.

I thought Joker painted an excellent picture of a man with mental illness. He tries to be happy, including his attempt to create fictitious father figures for himself in Wayne and Deniro's talk show character, but those get destroyed when they make contact in real life.
Finding out the real story about his mother and childhood served as the final push needed to fully descend into madness. I found myself rooting for a sociopath until the very end when I realized what I was rooting for. I still think it was a phenomenal work, no matter how exhausted I am by the constant churn of recycled content. That movie felt like anything but a recycle, in fact, I thought it was a clear departure from anything that had been done in that space.
The idea of a seeing Phoenix reprise his role as Joker sounds great on the surface but we've already seen the descent, I don't know what a 2nd film could add to this but I hope they find some way to create magic again.
Same. I have it in the queue.Brb, been inspired to go watch "Man on Fire" for the first time in a while
River wild on Netflix was suspenseful and only 1.5hrs

Going to see it with a couple of buddies tomorrow, glad to hear it's worth it!Wife and I saw "The Boys in the Boat" tonight. Wonderful film. Based off a true story. Anyone would enjoy this movie,
especially sports fan. Acting was excellent, and the movie had perfect pace also. Go see it when you can.
Outstanding film! Highly recommend. The racing scenes were heart pounding. Didn't realize George Clooney directed. Would definitely watch it againWife and I saw "The Boys in the Boat" tonight. Wonderful film. Based off a true story. Anyone would enjoy this movie,

I liked “ society of the snow.” Alive was good but I think it kind of sugar coated the main issue/dilemma of their means of survival.Just watched the remake of Alive-1993. true story and very interesting.
'DEI' made a Netflix remake called "Society of the snow". It's a true story about a plane crash and cannibalism.
"society of the snow"... Wow.
Alive was 100% better.
I get it. It was watchable, but...to begin with, there were no avalanches.I liked “ society of the snow.” Alive was good but I think it kind of sugar coated the main issue/dilemma of their means of survival.
Are you sure?I get it. It was watchable, but...to begin with, there were no avalanches.
pictures of them being picked up, prove that.
It's odd, when time/movies change the stories that we all once knew.
Books are always better, and facts stay in place by the nature of words on paper...
according to the book, the avalanches happened while they tried to leave and find help, not at the plane itself. 8 died. Are you sure?
There was an avalanche in “Alive” very similar that part.
I’ll read the book. It is an amazing story. Actually I feel like a read the book many years ago. Is it one by Nando?according to the book, the avalanches happened while they tried to leave and find help, not at the plane itself. 8 died.
I should have said that earlier. My bad

Taylor Sheridan rocks. I’m sure you have, but if you haven’t go watch Hell or High Water right away.I watched the 2017 movie Wind River tonight, starring Jeremy Renner. Nothing groundbreaking about it, but it tells a good story well. I thought it was odd how many of the cast members would go on to be in Yellowstone (6 or 7 of them), then I realized Taylor Sheridan directed Wind River. Good watch, good story.
