A nice short window-rattler here in Kalamazoo. No known damages, but a lot of surprised folks.

My wife & I are in Michigan this weekend. I think this may be my fault. Sorry.

I live a few miles from Galesburg. Never been in an earthquake today. It was kinda different. Being it's so nice out all the neighborhood kids were out playing. They were all a bit freaked.

Lived through many quakes during my time in New Zealand.

I was on the commode during the event and did not differentiate it from normal house shaking until now. Beg yer pard for the toilet humor.

I was at a girl's high school tennis match in Niles and Galesburg was the opponent. We didn't feel anything but some of the girls were concerned when information about the quake started showing up on Twitter and Facebook.

I remember one back in '06 or '07 in the Cincinnati area. I woke up in the middle of the night to my bed shaking and my room rattling. Woke up in a panic thinking ghosts were real and that it was time for me to run away from home. Then I realized it was an earthquake.

Eerie is definitely the right way to put it when you've never felt one before. My parents hadn't even woken up, so they thought I was crazy when I asked them about the earthquake. I began to agree with them until I got to school and everyone was talking about it.

I used to sleep in the room above the garage. One hit in the early morning once, but I just thought it was the door opening.

My wife and I lived in Galesburg, Michigan when were first married. Bought our first home in Portage, Michigan (12 miles west) about 3 years ago.

We were in my hometown of Bay City about 3 hours away and we felt it. About 2 minutes later my phone was getting calls & texts.

I called my former landlord we used to rent from in Galesburg and she was a rattled by it but ok. Two of my neighbors told me it was about :15, started small and grew in size. It shook their houses and things fell off the walls. They didnt say there was damage. Crazy because Michigan isn't known for earthquakes.

All I've seen for damage locally is a road pretty much destroyed in Climax.

If there was major road damage DUE TO THE EARTHQUAKE in Climax, there is no news awareness of it. The Climax news says "there was no damage".

Major road damage {"pretty much destroyed"} would be really big news for a Michigan quake. It may in fact never happened in recent history.

"So then nothing in the news about Climax?" she said as she turned her head to hide a smile.

I'll see if I can find the pic. Of course it was on social media, which means there's a 10% chance it was true and I shouldn't have believed it. Ha
