-- this was literally last week. They intentionally set up the tunnel to create conflict. #1 and #22 went up the tunnel with the MSU team (the rest of the Michigan team waited outside and taunted them as they walked by). I have no clue why #1 and #22 thought it appropriate to do that... and no they didn't deserve to have their ass kicked... but it reminds me of the Chris Rock "But It Understand" bit.

Or had a coach that had a handle on his players. There was no reason for both teams to be going in the tunnel at the same time let alone just 2 players.

Honestly, with the number of coaches, analysts, etc on these staffs (plus the officials and security) there's no way that they shouldn't be able to create a rock-solid buffer between the two teams as they go into the tunnel.

Yes. This is on the scUM administration as much as anyone. This isn't the first time it's happened. Security should be in place and both teams should know who's going in or our first. Just remember to save Jimmy Johnson's ass for me.

Slight disagreement - I wouldn't say it's on their administration as much as anyone. Those Sparty players still made a choice to act that way and that's a choice you need to be smart enough not to make. I'd still argue that they are more to blame than the scUM administration. But, the scUM administration is without a doubt partially culpable because of their negligence (willful or just incompetent? who can say?).

Yeah, Sparty players made the choice. My thought is the administration is aware of past incidents and if they put the proper security in place to keep the teams apart (keep one on the field 20-30 yards away), until one is in the locker room we don't see this. Same when coming out at the start and at halftime.

I assume no one is pressing charges against the Michigan Administration, just the fuck knobs swinging helmets at people, right?

so no scUM players suspended which is a crock of sh%t because something had to be said to the MSU players to set them off to the point where they physically beat the crap out of a couple of opposing players after the game

This is better than blaming Michigan's administration. Michigan player says words, snowflakes beat him with helmet, Michigan player should get suspension.

Should Stefon Diggs have been suspended for this?

It is within the power of self control not to gang assault someone, even if they are talking ****.

This whole situation just makes me think of the onion article they post after every mass shooting. Obviously the MSU players are scum bags and I am glad a couple will likely be getting charged. "No way to prevent this, says only university where these tunnel skirmishes still routinely happen"

Michigan will now have time to take preventative action on this since they go on the road to Rutgers this weekend. They finish out the home slate with Nebraska and Illinois.

People blaming Michigan for the actions of the Michigan State players are just totally warped. It's beyond biased thinking, no matter how much we don't like Michigan. Come on.

Winning and losing with any sort of dignity has gone out the window quite a bit. Arkansas trolling Auburn on Twitter for example. The Cleveland Guardians is another. Take a breath and stop to think that you don't have to act like a twat after a sporting event.

100% with you on the first half. I hate scUM as much as the next guy, and I'm a big proponent of "stupid games, stupid prizes," but the hivemind attack in the tunnel was craaaaaazy, and totally uncalled for. It doesn't matter if he's in the tunnel that inspires conflict when he's not supposed to be, and it doesn't matter what kind of crazy shit he might have been talking... the assault was so far out of the realm of proportionate response, that I don't know how MSU fans keep writing it off as "well that tunnel is a problem, what do you expect??"

Totally disagree on the bolded, though. That was a hilarious tweet.

Sure it was. It doesn't change my point. Winning isn't enough anymore in 2022. You have to troll everyone and taunt everybody. It's been going on for a few years now.
