Sampson's piece in the Athletic about Franklin chapping MFMF's ass in the pre-game presser with his condescending comments about Freeman's age and hairline.

Freeman put that disrespect card on the boys and gave them something else to play for.

Penn State head coach James Franklin playfully asked Freeman how old he was. He complimented his hairline. He might as well have patted the 38-year-old on the head and told him what a good job he was doing. Because that’s how Freeman heard it, gritting his teeth throughout. And now Freeman was going to give that energy to a new source.

His players could hardly believe it.

“He was angry. He was angry with the press conference thing, whatever was going on between that,” safety Xavier Watts said. “He was mad about that. All the anger went toward us and that anger went onto the field.”

Great job coach! Man have we ever found a great coach.

While it has been tough at times to navigate the bumps and bruises of a first time head coach, it has also been fun to watch how Freeman has developed as a head coach.

I remember early on in 22-23 having high hopes for Freeman but a few things bothered me. Obviously the bad losses. But for one, he seemed far too passive on the sidelines. He rarely seemed to engage the refs, his players or the coaches. Two, and I know this may seem petty, but he also seemed passive, very nervous and uncomfortable in press conferences.

My goodness have those things changed dramatically. The bad losses have become great wins. And his sideline demeanor has done a 180. Far more engaged, directing, and being a vocal leader on the sidelines. Freeman has shown he is a learner, and one of those guys who builds things slowly and gets better with time.

We have ourselves a great head coach and an even better man. Grateful to have him leading our boys. Go Irish ☘️

Coach, get some rest! This man loves the university and our fans.

I was at Legends for BK’s first radio show, they drew some names of fans for some memorabilia, a woman who won asked for a picture with BK, he took a quick photo then when she walked off I heard him say to a handler, “I thought I said no photos.” After that moment I never liked BK, wanted him to succeed because it meant ND succeeded but always thought he was a politician and a prick. What a difference between him and Coach Freeman, who I want to succeed because it means ND succeeds AND because I want it for him.

When MFMF was laughing and pointing at the ref who called the PI that wiped out Kiser's INT... I literally thought he was thinking of killing that man. Lol
That was the same crew that did the ND/GA game. Probably the same ref that called the PI on Kiser on 4th and 13. Speculating here, but I bet Freeman had a conversation with that official about the call in the GA game resulting in Freeman's response.

I'm just going to pretend that was a shot at Franklin lol
I mentioned this yesterday, but Freeman did look rather frustrated/annoyed with the comments Franklin was making all week. Turns out he did use it to his advantage.
