Clemson has some negative trends but the best recruiting class in their history will be juniors next season. Even without Venables I think that defense is going to be stout.

it's hard to see the offense being worse than the 2021 version.

Did I see that DJ is following Venables to OU or was that a BS rumor?

For sure. #2 toughest game maybe by a chunk. If I had to do the same exercise I’d put Clemson and USC in the toss up, and USC/UNC being road games are only reason I’m giving them enough credit there.

I also think ND is going to benefit from getting OSU Week 1. Not saying that's a win, but they are replacing their entire defensive line, 2 of their top 3 receivers, their TE, and the left side of their OL. Not sure what else they will lose on top of that to the draft. OSU in recent memory has dropped some early season OOC games when they actually play real opponents like Oregon, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, and Miami to name a few.

Of course they will return CJ Stroud and Henderson, and it is at OSU. Going to be very difficult and is by far the toughest game, but ND is getting close to them in talent and has some favorable matchups as of now.

Their offense was garbage. Their defense was typically excellent. But Swinney has not yet shown the ability to reload like Saban after losing crucial assistants and Heisman- caliber QBs. Until he does, it's reasonable to expect a few rebuilding years.

Agree. It seems like whenever OSU drops a game, it's early in the season.

It might get awkward when his first game coached is a victory in a January 1st bowl. That's a pretty big middle finger to the rest of the country that's been going on about how ND hasn't won a major bowl since the 1994 Cotton Bowl.

Quite a relief to the fan base and some very positive momentum going into February Signing Day and spring ball too.
