Not for sure. Its the heaviest one I have heard of recently. There was one that was about 14 feet but it was only 770 lbs. That one was caught alive.
F me...that had to be one bad a$$ to catch that thing!

We had 5-6 footers in the training area in Louisiana. **** that ****. ****ing alligators. ****ing meat eating machines. I couldn't imagine my life cliff jumping in PA and swimming in back country waterholes being worried about alligators. **** THAT **** SON!

1,025-pound, decades-old alligator slain | News | Berkeley Independent | South Carolina

Apparently, SC does nto keep records for alligators. But this one is 1,025 lbs, 13.5 feet long, and was caught by a woman.
I did not know about this one.

Giant crocodile captured alive in Philippines - Yahoo! News

Mayor Edwin Cox Elorde said dozens of villagers and experts ensnared the 21-foot (6.4-meter) male crocodile along a creek in Bunawan township in Agusan del Sur province after a three-week hunt. It could be one of the largest crocodiles to be captured alive in recent years, he said, quoting local crocodile experts.
About 100 people had to pull the crocodile, which weighs about 2,370 pounds (1,075 kilograms), from the creek to a clearing where a crane lifted it into a truck, he said.

Absolutely nothing in that scenes make me want to jump in and go swimming.

That just looks like a place large reptiles call home.

LOL. Believe me , when one has been on a boat all day and drinking, and the temp hits over 100 degrees with 100% humidity, you get in the water. ;-)

Not me...you can have that water. I'll stay in the boat and drink beer.

Growing up in Florida we hunted gators in the Everglades, I've killed some bigguns but I've never seen one that big in person.

All this talk of gators has got me thinking I need to do a Low country boil this weekend with some shrimp, crabs, frog legs, and gator bites.

... more remnants of Urban's effect on the gator program.

Hahaha

I was going to say: it can't be coincidence that just recently the article about Urban Meyer's lack of control over the UF program came out, and several of his former players were quite open and critical about the Circle of Trust; now you get these dead, fat gators washing up in droves. It's like the scenes from Goodfellas with Layla playing in the background

Any idea if one of these reptiles was named Chris Rainey??

Yeah right? My buddy lives in a new development that butts up against a freshwater marsh and gaters have swam up the storm water piping and are now inhabiting their retention ponds. The neighborhood bike and pedestrian paths go right by these ponds all the time. I pulled up to his house one day and there was a 6-footer sunning on the bike path.
