I’ve read several people, including sports media personalities, observe that both these teams would have been left out of the CFP in the 4 team playoff. While impossible to prove the hypothetical, I’m almost certain that the committee’s approach in all previous years would have resulted in ND at 3 or 4. This year, they for the first time went out of their way not to “punish” CCG losers, but in the old system ND would have jumped at least one of Texas and PSU.
Absolutely.

No details but Knaap is out, per ISD. Not surprising but hopefully it doesn't keep him out spring. I thought Baker played well but curious what they'll do.

Are we getting anyone injured back for this game? This has to be an all hands on deck. This isn’t Penn State. While we are better than we were last year so is Ohio State this is gonna take next level effort

I wouldn't go that far. But, maybe we could work out a deal between Michigan and Indiana for Michigan to temporarily annex South Bend.

Congrats to Irish Nation for showing up and showing out. Sadly I have been on the road a lot the last couple of months in and out of the country and haven't caught as much of the playoff as I would have liked. Throw in a tornado after Christmas that took out one of our distribution centers and my time has been taken up too much lately with work. But wanted to come on and congratulate you guys and say finish the job at hand. And having the opportunity to plant your flag against a no good, sorry ass, ego laden, bunch of sissy boys would be a fitting ending a great season. Beat that Buckeye ass so T Town can raise a toast to my friends at IE.

I don't like 9.5 point spread. I didn't think it would be near double digits
I honestly don't care about spreads too much. It doesn't mean anything. Their job is to try to get betting action. Opening this high encourages ND fans to lay down some money on the Irish since most of the nation is saying OSU easy. They need to get some betting action, hence the high spread. Not that it really means anything about the game.

ND is 12-2-1 against the spread this season.

I think it’s the perfect spot for ND as the underdog……puts all the pressure squarely on OSU.

I'd rather be an overwhelming favorite. Probably would be we're clearly better.

Circa moved it to 8.5. Still early
Metrics say that the line should be about ~3 points if ND was healthy. Factoring in OSU playing at a really high level the past couple weeks + ND injuries + "style mismatch" for ND's strengths here... I would've expected 6.5 to 7.5 points.

Public metrics are sometimes off. Like SP+ will be significantly off market sometimes. If Notre dame was fully healthy I think they would be getting more than 3 but probably less than 7. Im not convinced injuries are making up 5 points. A great tackle is moving the line by 1 at the most

I have no doubt Coach Free will have the boys locked in and ready to go. Freeman can say it doesn’t matter who they play but I imagine deep down in side he wants nothing more than to beat his Alma Mater. Notre Dame is going to win this game
