BK has done much better than Weis of getting speed on the field.
Remember opening game of 2008, when Theo was returning the opening kick and Tom Hammond said that Weis had said #32 was the fastest player on the team?
That guy ran a 4.66 at the combine. We've come a long ways in the speed category to say the least.
Ha, yeah, I've never understood this. All anyone talked about when Theo was coming in was how fast he was. He got caught from behind occasionally last year. Not sure if cumulative effect of injuries during his college career affected his top-end speed or what, but he was not as fast as advertised. Still a great player though, certainly don't intend to knock the guy.
I probably need to revisit his thread, but when he was being recruited I remember people talking about how shifty he was on the Irish Eyes board rather than speed...which he was shifty.
Anyone have an update for us cheapos?
Yeah I'll get around to it soon...
Anything on the current team?
Thanks for the update.
Alrighty:
-Lack of contract extension was being used against Kelly on the trail, the announcement of an extension helps and they believe a big buyout clause was put in making it extremely difficult for anyone to poach him without just ungodly truckloads of money.
-Seems like we're back in it with Andrew Williams. He's planning on being in South Bend for Michigan State. I'm still a bit skeptical of his overall interest, but we'll see what happens.
-Not much else... WR board is trimmed to Lazard, McKenzie, Erik Brown, and Quick. We're probably looking to take 2 more, but at least 1. None of those guys are locks but I like our chances with Quick and McKenzie (if he gets his academic house in order, and he has a lot to do).
“@ISDUpdate: Also, several quick recruiting updates, including one current #ND pledge who is expected to be on a visit elsewhere this weekend...”
.........
Tillery will be at Bama v. A&M.
I am not really sure that is cause for alarm but, if I was a big-time recruit I would damn sure want to be at that game.

Christian on ISD doesn't think it is a concern, he thinks it is exactly that - a chance to go to the biggest game of the year and he is taking it. I'd do the same thing.
-Important weekend for recruiting (duh)
-Tranquil very well may have a final decision by next week. This visit is the last hurrah for ND.
-Lots of '15 notes. Meh.
-ISD thinks we would have no trouble getting in with Ballage if we want him.
-For Scarborough, we almost got him on campus for this weekend. ISD thinks Florida will be really stiff competition for him. They said he's probably the only player left on the board who could be an upgrade over Hood.
-Not optimistic on Lazard. They think it will take a coaching change or sanctions for him to flip. Still, he's going to take all of his OVs.
-Still confident that ND is clear leader for McKenzie. Pushing back date has nothing to do with any changes to that. He has yet to have taken the SAT and will do so next month.
-Byrne and Martini will play for Team USA against Team Canada in February.
-Onto the game, this one is obviously important.
-Protecting the football is priority #1. "Sources" expect the D to be able to shut MSU down. The coaches are happy winning 3-0 if that's what it comes to. Personally, I think this is a horrible idea and we need to air the ball out.
-They expect a lot of pressures to be brought on 3rd down and keeping Tommy clean is the second most important thing in this game to protecting the ball.

Omg he hasn't taken the SAT yet? So that's the academic issue? And there's no reason to think he won't get a qualifying score? That's great. I'm not impressed with his planning skills, but as long as his test-taking skills are up to par, no issue.
I was just wondering about this too. Sounds (this is me assuming) that his grades aren't a problem, just need some test scores.
He didn't leave himself much time but if it is truly "pass and in" then I'll take that over missing courses.

That would be an incorrect assumption.
Any Intel today?
