First of all I think Brian Kelly and the staff have done an amazing coaching job this year. 10-1 with these injuries is impressive. we've been over who is out and how they've coached up others to step in.
My question/concern is WHY are we getting so many injuries. This is 2 years in a row now. Yes there are always freak injuries, and bad luck but for me there comes a time when you have to question what YOU are doing. I read a post from someone in another thread about the shoes causing high ankle sprains etc. For me it is TOO many injuries to be a coincidence. How are they being trained? Do they get the proper rest/recovery period after games? I don't know enough of these things but I think ND should be looking within.
I've coached other sports and had a rash of injuries. At a certain point we looked within and in some cases we were over training. In others we were putting a heavy load on certain muscle groups. Turf v grass is a big difference.
What does everyone think regarding our injury situation?
