I do care that we gave away our home field advantage and that our home stadium had almost as many Georgia fans as Irish fans. The whole stub hub excuse of not knowing who the tickets were going to be bought by is stupid AF. You knew that their was a 90% chance those tickets were going to be bought by a Bulldog fan. Hey, I guess you got enough money to go out and buy a bitching new big screen TV. Sleep good.

The comments from Kirby Smart have me embarrassed and ashamed of our fans and if you don't feel similarly I don't really know what to say to you. Must have felt great to be one of our players running out of the tunnel to the sound of 30k Georgia fans booing you. Definitely felt great to be surrounded by Georgia fans in our own stadium. ND tickets aren't an opportunity for profit, they're an opportunity to support the school we love and the players that wear the blue and gold. End of story.

I couldn't GIVE away tickets to Navy in 2013. I had purchased 4 tickets for myself, the Mrs, and the kids to go. When forecasts were calling for a cold, rainy game she decided she didn't want to expose the kids to the elements so she asked me to find someone else to go.

I honestly didn't try anywhere else besides friends/family and posting on IE, and it was game week so it was a short timeline, but no one could go or wanted to go. I wasn't even asking for cash. Ultimately NDinLA did step up late and came to the game with his Mrs. It was a tight game, but we came out on top. If he didn't show I probably would have been sitting in 4 seats all by myself. That said, I wouldn't have tried to sell the tickets for a profit (Like I could if I wanted to), and I was definitely not going to give the tickets to someone that wasn't a fan...although in the case of Navy I think it would be acceptable to give them to a Midshipman given the circumstances.

at least in both those instances an ND fan filled the seat and (hopefully) cheered on the team.

Take away the monetary aspect in entirely, in the end ND folks hindered the team but not selling their tickets to fellow ND fans if they didn't want to go to the game.

No, they weren't to elite level matchups, but those individuals really loved being able to see Bama play, see the stadium, take in the game day activities, etc., and share in that experience with their child. If someone is getting a ticket under face, it also means the stadium isnt gonna be filled with our opponents fans. It also means it's an off game, not a prime time game against a ranked opponent. I honestly don't get why buying one under gate value has anything to do with making a profit off of your ticket by selling it to our opponent in a huge game.

One of the requirements of being an ND fan is being AT LEAST upper middle class. No such thing as a poor Irish fan.

You are correct in that I would give them/sell them to another Bama fan, give to family, etc. Nothing against LSU or their fans but it is Bryant Denny Stadium - home of the Crimson Tide.

I am not convicting people of doing what they want with their money, tickets, etc. Their choice in the end. Yep. I have done that. Have also sold to a dad and his son, or a couple of local kids, for $20 a pop. And yes, as someone said, most ND people sell to other ND people at face value. That's the right thing to do, on both sides of the deal.
But I've had too many grown-ass-man Notre Dame fans over the years offer me $40 for an $80 ticket just b/c they can to get all sanctimonious about this issue.
It's a free market, and on Saturday, Georgia people were willing to pay more, apparently in large numbers. That's all.

What I'm saying is I have no problem with someone wanting to go to a game that is on the road, especially a marquee matchup. No one has argued that.

I agree, and I covered that in an earlier post that for many ND fans that wanted to make their "once in a lifetime" trip or even once a year, five years, etc. had cheaper options to make.

Unload them on the Chicago alumni club then. Plenty of people in the Chicago area that could go without much planning required.

I think his point was for fans that don't have season tickets looking to buy. If you are from NC or TX or wherever and are an ND fan, it's costly just to make the game, compared to the built in fans within state that the state schools have, which offsets the travel costs.

However, the fact remains no one should have been selling their tickets to GA fans, that I'm in total agreement with you about.
