So I took my seven year old to the new X-men movie.
Five minutes in Wolverine has already chopped off an arm, sliced off a couple legs, and stuck all three claws in a guy's skull all while dropping numerous f-bombs.

Then they flashed some boobs.

I pulled out my phone and looked it up.
Yup, it's rated R.

Dont feel too bad. My sister took my 8 year old nephew to see Deadpool. She became concerned at the anal sex part.

Logan was great. Didn't really feel at all like an X-Men movie, more like a western. I'm really happy about that because Apocalypse was pretty bad.

Hahaha "He's a friend from work!"

I wonder how much of "Planet Hulk" makes its way into the movie. That storyline is actually kind of messed up.

Calling it now. Thor is going to make more money than the Justice League.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was pretty great. I don't like it as much as the first one but it's still really good.

Good to hear - seeing it Thursday after my son finishes middle school finals. Crazy family schedule has made it impossible to see it sooner. Trailers had given me that "not much left in the movie to laugh about feeling" which is so non-characteristic of Marvel products.

Batman v Superman has been on DVR for a month - have little desire to watch it a second time. Would rather watch Avengers for the 30th time.

Due to various family commitments, I too have yet to see it, but I have basically told my wife we are going this Sat or Sun.

Disregard these fears.

The trailer was all of the worst jokes.

I belly-laughed several times, and cried actual tears of laughter at one point.

If anything it might be a little too joke heavy.

Can anyone explain to me what sense a Venom movie makes in a universe where there's no Spider-Man?

Nope. Sony has no idea what it's doing. They want to make all of the Spider-Man spinoffs on their own without Marvel's help. It isn't going to work. Fans want to see all of these characters tied into the MCU, not off in their own world. I can't see a Venom solo movie doing well even if Tom Hardy, who is one of my favorite actors, is involved.

I wouldn't count Tom Hardy out. I would watch a movie of him sitting at a table making a sandwich.
