Thoughts from anyone who has seen Suicide Squad yet?

Rob Liefeld, Deadpool creator, went off on Twitter about how bad it was.

What does that mean? There's no such thing as the "Marvel TV Universe," that's a DC thing. Agents of SHIELD and the Marvel Netflix shows have always been a part of the MCU.

Not seen the term before, but as people have asked Kevin Feighe at Marvel when/where the crossovers from TV (especially the Netflix heroes but SHIELD people as well) are/will be coming, their "its all connected" mentality has broken down somewhat with them saying its hard to mingle the two as the movies have a longer time to gestate the movies and throws things off. Basically explaining to the fans that you probably won't see TV characters in the movies, like in the upcoming Infinity War. There have been some interviews with Charlie Cox (Daredevil) where he has sounded like he has been told he won't be in the movie universe and sounds disappointed.

I can't help but think that Michael K. Williams would have been better cast as the villain.

I saw it Saturday morning and I really enjoyed it. I was concerned when I read that they cut a ton of Joker footage, I would of like to seen more but it fit nicely.

The critics absolutely hammered it, but it had a huge opening. Biggest in August history i'm pretty sure.

DC and Marvel are two completely different animals. Not only characters but mood as well.
I Lean DC but i'm also a huge batman dork.

They may be the same "universe" but they are very much separate

Spoiler free

It was bad. Stupid plot, stupid villain, bad CGI, undeveloped, uninteresting, and underutilized characters, bad music, too much music, too much copying off other movies. It's entertaining I guess but if you turn your brain off.

They pretty much made Will Smith the main "hero" which sucks. He's ok in the movie but too much of him takes away from other characters. Harley Quinn is fine but has no business fighting this villain. Honestly only one member of the Suicide Squad (El Diablo) has any business fighting the villain. What else...there are characters who barely do anything at all or are barely even in the movie. I'm sure there's more I didn't like.

She gives Superman all kinds of Hell in the comics, he ultimately kills her.

More to it. They're sort of buddies. Poison Ivy, Enchantress, Harley, and Catwomen. story should evolve if they make sequels and intertwine the movies more

He basically is the only one...

punisher might not be until 2019 I thought I heard. Dare Devil won't be back until 2018 I believe as well.

The Defenders: What We Know So Far - CINEMABLEND

I was looking around to see if any more info was available as to Punisher start date and found nothing concrete. One article (a few months old) said it was being fast tracked and to expect it in 2017, but the more I look in forums, the majority of guesses seem to fit this:

2016 - Daredevil S2, Luke Cage
2017 - Iron Fist, Defenders
2018 - Jessica Jones, The Punisher(?), or Daredevil S3 (?)

Any of you who are fans of the old show The Tick should go to Amazon Instant Video and watch the pilot of the new live action The Tick show. If reviewed favorably enough, they will go to Amazon series.

(Also, clips from other pilots Jean Claude Van Johnson and a Kevin Bacon comedy)

For anyone who watches Agents of SHIELD on TV, this fall they will be incorporating Ghost Rider into the show, but not Johnny Blaze (Nic Cage) version. They will be using a different comic incarnation of him...

Thoughts on that list:

1. "Iron Man 3" was trash; should be #30 automatically IMO. I love Happy Hogan, and he was the only redeeming quality in that movie.

2. "Batman v Superman" needs to move up to ~20. It was better that "Age of Ultron," and should jump ahead of all X-Men movies, with the exception of "Days of Future Past"

3. Drop all X-Men movies except "Days of Future Past" to the bottom of the list, just in front of "Iron Man 3"

4. "Hell Boy" needs to be way higher. Severely underrated IMO.

5. "Captain America: The First Avenger" needs to move way up too.

6. I have never seen "Unbreakable"... I must do so.

My Top 3:
1. The Dark Knight
2. Iron Man
3. Guardians of the Galaxy

Bonus round:
4. Captain America: Civil War
5. Deadpool

Seems like this thread leans heavily towards the movies, but anyone actually reading comic books? I got away from collecting for a while, but I have gotten back in to it in the last year. Started to read a number of the DC Rebirth titles and I have enjoyed those so far. Batman and Nightwing have been good. The new Star Wars titles have been good too especially Han Solo.

I am really lucky because a new comic book store opened just down the road from my house in Gallatin, TN and it is solely a comic book store. They don't do a lot of games and cards and such. Plus the owner is an old dude like me so I enjoy hanging out and talking comics with him.

Anyhow, what is everyone else reading these days?

I haven't bought any comics in a while except for a few thru the comoxology app. I enjoy them, but haven't gotten into the habit so I miss chunks of stories. I guess life and being Daddy gets in the way...plus it's about 20-25 minutes to nearest shop.

I've got All-Star Batman #2 sitting on my nightstand, just haven't had a chance to sit down and read it yet. #1 was pretty awesome though. It will take some time getting used to reading Snyder's Batman without Capullo. JRJr is pretty great in his own right, but he still has a few hit or miss panels. Mostly his Batman from time to time is a little inconsistent. He gives him a weird roundish head sometimes and loses the iconic chin, but id assume he will get into the groove after a few issues. Has he ever had an extended run on a Batman book?

Snyder's writing is fantastic though. This really seems like he is telling the Batman story he wants to tell. Love that he's pulling some villains from the deep cut. Like the Gentleman ghost?? That's just fantastic.

Finishing up Luke Cage today with the wife. Another well done series. They did excellent with casting and the in episode music/soundtrack is great. I honestly can't wait to see The Defenders. It has so much potential based on the characters they have right now. Netflix is doing this right.

Oh and Turk might be one of my favorite characters in the Series.
