I've got All-Star Batman #2 sitting on my nightstand, just haven't had a chance to sit down and read it yet. #1 was pretty awesome though. It will take some time getting used to reading Snyder's Batman without Capullo. JRJr is pretty great in his own right, but he still has a few hit or miss panels. Mostly his Batman from time to time is a little inconsistent. He gives him a weird roundish head sometimes and loses the iconic chin, but id assume he will get into the groove after a few issues. Has he ever had an extended run on a Batman book?

Snyder's writing is fantastic though. This really seems like he is telling the Batman story he wants to tell. Love that he's pulling some villains from the deep cut. Like the Gentleman ghost?? That's just fantastic.

Finished All Star Batman #2 and I am loving it so far. I have #3 ready to go tonight. Gonna open a nice Cab and relax with a stack of new books. Reading some fun indy titles too. Hillbilly and Briggs Land are really good.

Ive still got to get to #3 as well. #2 was pretty great. Loved the KG Beast section. I think this series would make a killer movie. Just watching Batman and Two Face trying to make this weird planes trains and automobiles type journey.

I actually just laughed out loud at the thought of Two Face jumping up from a motel room bed and yelling, "Those are't two pillows!!!"

Just watched the first episode of Stan Against Evil. Really dig it already. John C. McGinley is awesome. Dana Gould is a writer and EP on this and it is definitely funny. Hope the other episodes keep it up.

Anyone see Doctor Strange yet?

Also, kind of interested in this:

Luc is always worthwhile visually, my only concern is Cara D, she was the weakest link for me in Suicide Squad and that is saying something. Hope he can get her up to Milla Jovovich level at least.

Doctor Strange was good. The basic storyline involving the two opposing sides was well done and interesting including the culminating battle. I liked the internal battle between good and evil actions amongst the heroes. Effects were excellent.
But I had a real hard time following the energy and their powers. I was pretty lost. Glad to have seen it but won't ever see it again.

Copied from the "Movies you just saw" thread:

I watched Suicide Squad for the first time yesterday while I was at home with a sick baby.

I actually didn't think it was too bad, compared to most reviews.

The villain wasn't as terrible as I thought based on what people had said. I really liked the origin of the Enchantress, and the "mystic" design and visuals tied to her and her brother were interesting to me.

Harley Quinn kind of annoyed me, as I thought they over-saturated the film with her crazy/hot/smartass lines, and I kind of winced whenever she said "puddin'," but I thought her team-first moments near the end were actually handled pretty well.

Will Smith was okay. Would have been rated as "good," but the writers did him no favors with his dialogue. They should have taken notes from his funny/dark moments in "Hancock."

I realllllly liked Leto as the Joker. He had some call-backs to other Jokers built into the way he played the role, but he also managed to make it his own iteration even in his severely-limited screen time. Good work.

I thought the Crocodile dude was needlessly included. It's like he was only there so they could write a part of the story where the bomb has to be swam through a flooded tunnel.

Didn't like that they brought in the Rope guy just to show that Flagg was super serial about killing them if they disobeyed. Australian Thief guy was under-utilized... if you're going to use his antics for comic-relief, then give him some more lines. Katana thing was interesting but seemed kind of "tacked on" in a sense, like they could have made up her parts in the fights in some other way.

The dude who played Flag was terrrrrrrrible, which was a bummer because I thought he was pretty good in "House of Cards." The movie would have been instantly 100% more enjoyable if he had any chemistry at all with Will Smith in the back-and-forth relationship they had. Don't change the character dramatically; just write in some witty comebacks rather than having him be this stone-faced redneck that's only about his business and gives nothing back to the comic relief on the screen. And his accent was bad.

I liked Diablo and his redemptive arc. It was a good inclusion, even though it was cheesy as hell. I actually really liked when they went full voodoo and had him turn into a giant devil monster to play off of Enchantress and her bro. It was done well with the effects and whatnot.

Overall, I'd give it a 6/10. Could have/should have been an 8 or 9 with that cast and storyline, but Will Smith was ruined by bad writing and by lack of chemistry coming from the dude who played Flag (or they should have just changed Flag's character to match the rest of the movie to give him some give-and-take with the comic relief).

Cars 3 Preview - I think my 13 year old cried when Lightning crashes. Little dude was all about #95 when the original came out and loves watching 1 & 2 with his 4 year old brother.

The full trailer for the new Power Rangers dropped and got me all hyped on nostalgia, though I think the Megazord could have been better:

And here it is, cut into two much better versions, each having one of the themes from the first two seasons of the original show:

First trailer they used "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. Now they use "Amazing Grace." Very looking forward to this one.
