Reminds me of a night about 35 years ago. I was playing Scrabble with a woman I knew. It was winter. It was clear and cold. She suckered me into accepting The Official Scrabble Dictionary as final arbiter on words.

The OED it ain't.

She had a copy and must have spent a good bit of her spare time studying it. I played a word she admitted was legitimate. However, it was not in the OSD and she knew it, so she issued a challenge. It cost me a turn and 64 points.
