Hello IE brothers & sisters. Over the past couple of years I have grown to feel like all of you are a part of my family. We have laughed, cursed, shed some recruiting tears & prayed for one another.

The reason I started this thread is, man I am as low as catfish crap in the Mississippi river. I had 3 back surgeries last year. First was a fusion. The next two was because the fusion didn't take and I had an infection. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was so damned excited about 'the big game' that on Friday I decided to knock off a honey-do. I climbed up mu 8 foot step ladder and was cleaning the gutters and that is the last thing I remembered until I woke up in excruciating pain in the hospital. When I fell, I shattered my 4 levels of fusion that had finally worked & fractured my L1 & T 10. I had surgery that night & have had another since. I know none of you on here know me, or anything about me, from Adam, but I am not trying to get on disability nor am I in search of drugs. I LOVE coaching high school football and teaching Sspecial Education. The problem is, I have no feeling in my feet. I can not feel it when they poke them with a needle, nor can I move them. My Dr. said this was good news considering. He says it's a 50/50 chance that I will regain enough felling to walk. I have never heard of anyone paralyzed from the ankle down and I know many of you are thinking the same thing. What has happened, according to the doc, is my spinal cord is intact and undamaged. What has happened is there was nerve damage to the nerves that run to my feet. I humbly ask any of you that would, to PLEASE pray for me to get that movement back.

Consider it done. I hope you can continue doing the things you love and recover fully.

One thing Notre Dame means is family.

Where people care about ya, not just 'cause ya win or 'cause things go well but because they genuinely care about ya.
- Lou Holtz

We're all part of a family. Take care.

I've no better pipeline to God than anyone but I will give it my best shot. My Mom [95 years old] and I will offer the TV mass we attend at noon for you. She's closer to the Big Guy Upstairs than most, so.... God Bless you.

Did you happen to see DR. Lou this evening? I thought of you while he was speaking. Good pick me up. I'll try and pick up a link if I can. It was good stuff.

I just said a prayer for your quick recovery.

I just returned home after spending 10 hours studying Neurology (which includes injuries like these) in a library... we read clinical scenarios but real stories like this provide me with more motivation to learn this stuff well. God speed.
