+1. My bundle price is $140 but after all the stupid shit they charge me for, I end up at $180.If that includes taxes and the bullshit fees, you did pretty good.

So here is what I ended up with. There is no minimum contract attached to any of this :
Unlimited land line - was $35 - is now $30
Internet (25Mb) - proposed $67 - is now $47
Direct TV HiDef - proposed $177 - is now $95
Do you really need the land line? At my work we offer unlimited home phone for $9.99 after fees it is $16
Where do you work. (It is a U-verse land line.)
Anyone use Sling TV or anything like it. I'm thinking about ditching cable soon. We are at about $180 a month including Internet. Live sports is mainly what I don't want to lose.
I use SlingTV. It's $20/mo and they just added the local Fox Sports Detroit channel so I can watch the Tigers (literally the only reason I kept cable around for as long as I did - because there was no way to watch them online (legally) before SlingTV added it to their channel lineup.)
So, internet is $50 per month for the top tier internet through Charter. $20 per month for SlingTV, $8 for HuluPlus, $8 for Netflix, $15 for HBOGo. Except we split accounts with three of our friends. I pay for the SlingTV, my one friend pays for the Netflix and Hulu, and another friend pays for the HBOGo. We all swapped login info so I have access to all of those programs but only pay for one of them.

or I'm turning you into the authorities.
Comcast cable and internet for 155 per month. The customer service sucks, but the actual service is reliable. I had Direct TV for about 3 months once and it seemed like every other day service was interrupted for some reason.
I finally picked up my own modem, going to be dropping the old one off at TWC and get my $7/month bullshit fee removed.
Any recommendations on buying a modem?

Get this modem
Motorola / ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 8x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem-Newegg.com
You can also find them on new egg bundled together with a good AC wireless router. Do you currently have a separate router, or would you need that, too?

No router. If I buy these, I just want to make sure they're not going to obsolete in a year due to increasing interwebz speeds.
Is it worth it to get the combo gateway, or buy each independently?

I have been strongly considering canceling my cable and looking into an alternative provider/system. I really want to be able to keep the ability to watch all sports but I am tired too much.
Wondering who you guys use?
Do you miss cable?
I currently use Frontier which uses Verizion FIOS for TV and internet.
