I have stayed at 200 which I'm happy with. But man has my strength increased. My max for bench press in October was 135(WEAK!) and now it's 200 and climbing. My max for dumbell curls was 70 in October, now it's 115. I also run/walk 2.5 miles a day
Hey Guys,
An update on my journey....after the Irish Loss in the Championship game I was so pissed and had to reevaluate my priorities. Well after talking to those close to me, we decided that my weight has become an bigger issue. Snoring, out of breadth, grouchy, tired, irritable....something had to change. So ON 1/7/13 I decided to stop kickboxing and get back to the basics. 1. Diet - I am on the South Beach diet. Really a healthy version of low carb. 2. Exercise - I am walking 1.5 miles every day and following up with strength training. Results are I am down from 233 to 214....I sleep better, my knees don't hurt, no snoring and I feel a lot better.
I hope you all are doing well. Remember its a Marathon not a sprint.
Although I have not exercised since prior to Christmas and my crazy schedule right now, I have still maintained my weight (I initially lost 33 lbs) and am still not smoking.
Once my school is done in April, I plan to do either Insanity or P90x. Any suggestions? Preferences. Looking to add muscle and lose body fat.
I'm down twenty. My brother has gone paleo and dropped 15 in like two weeks. It's insane.

I was thinking about doing paleo for a month before spring break. Has he had any side effects like bad moods or fatigue or anything like that?
Nope. My whole family is actually doing it and I think the five of use are down like 105lbs from January 1. I'm doing what I'll call a pseudo-Paleo because I still drink beer and whatnot haha Ohio State will do that to you... (and on that note, if you haven't been to Dan's Deli at the Gateway when you're out and hammered you're doing yourself a major disservice haha).
The only side effect I've felt is serious carb withdrawal. Like, I would murder someone for something as simple as pad thai right now haha but I just drink a lot of water and that combats it.
My sleeping and mood are wayyyy better. Fatigue is basically nonexistent now. My whole family agrees on all of that.
I'm about ready to start. I have been working out for a few months now and have lost a few pounds but now I'm at the point where I've hit a weight loss plateau and need to change it up.

Goal- lose 5-8 pounds.
Plan of Action- more weight training and add more cardio to the beginning and end of my work outs. I may hire a trainer, not sure yet.
Good luck to those engaged in their own weight lose endeavor!
Just a small tip. A friend of mine who is now in med school did a study as an undergrad.... He found that during his workouts, he would burn ~100 more calories if he weight lifted before his cardio (treadwell) rather than after. The theory is that if you weight train after, let's say 3 miles, you don't lift as hard. If you lift first then you do the 3 miles regardless, so you don't sacrifice effort.
What kind of supplements are you guys taking? If any for that matter
Alright, I know I'll get in better shape in the summer, but I want to do it now. 5-10 pounds in the next 90 days. Let's go.
Don't eat after dinner. It's a game changer

I always know I could be so fit if I just didn't have all the awful eating and drinking habits I have like eating after dinner, lots of pop and sugar, eating quickly, at weird times...you name it.
As far as drinking sweet things. Water mixed with Crystal Light is a great way to go. It's got great flavors, it's sugar free, and the great thing about it is that your body doesn't know it's sugar free.
