I don't want him starting or anything, but props to Tommy for pulling out the W after all he's been through. He may not be very talented, but he works hard, knows the playbook, has guts, and is a real team player. So congratulations to Tommy and go Irish!

Was going to start this if no one else did. Hats of to Tommy. He hasn't whined once about losing his job. He came in to boo's and led the Irish to a win. Way to go Tommy!!!!

So proud of this kid for the way he responded to everything, yes he made a mistake this summer but he has handled it very well and this kid is always getting harped on by our fan base bc he played instead of Crist, its a shame bc he gives everything hes got out there and saved our *** today

In an unrelated note, Crist threw 2 picks and KU lost to Rice today.

Yup. He came into the game in a tough spot and drove the team down the field to set up the game winning FG. Props to Tommy.

Agree. Class act. Everyone who boo'd him owes him a beer.

Nice... Though I don't think they bood him, but rather the decision on the change... I say this because I would have too (with zero knowledge of a Goldon injury). Either way.... Win is a win.... Well done

Tommy has ice in his veins and his stat line is in no way a true representation of how well he played. Some of those incomplete passes were smart reads and throws under pressure. He got rid of the ball quickly and avoided sacks. Big time performance.

I have to admit I questioned Kelly's decision to put Tommy in the game after EG passed for about 300 yards today, but Tommy did come through when called upon. So Tommy deserves some of the credit.

The play of Bennett Jackson, Louis Nix, and Stephon Tuitt had more to do with winning the game than Tommy's 35-yard drive, which included a key reception by John Goodman, but Tommy did what he had to do.

As to Tommy being harped on because he started over Dayne Crist, I think it had more to do with his 19 turnovers than anything to do with Dayne Crist. If Tommy wasn't such a turnover machine, he would have been named the starter.

he made a mistake but tommy seems like a good kid, i wish people would think of stuff like that before theyd boo or talk trash about him. I think golson should be the starter but im still a tommy fan and WE ARE 1-0 WHEN TOMMY GETS IN THE GAME WOOOO TOMMY IS 1-0!!!!

As I said in the post game thread, I'm ashamed of all of the fans who booed when Tommy went in. He plays for OUR team. I wasn't happy, but I would NEVER boo one of our own. He played well and I'm proud of him. After the game, he said he's a team player and does whatever he can to help the team. He's an ND kid and deserves our support.

God Bless Tommy Rees --- simply that.

And God Bless Robbie Toma and John Goodman. What an unlikely Three Musketeers riding to the rescue.

And we would never have been in the game in the first half without Everett --- he was really all we had.

Everett starts; Tommy backs up. That's pretty good in my book.

So Golson wasn't injured? I was at the game and assumed he was. Great drive by Rees, but a bit puzzled by the decision (Golson had played very well 67% completion). Regardless it worked.

Golson was hurt according to kelly...maybe it was a cover to help deflect questions on EG?? If so, brilliant...

I agree big PROPS to Rees, what a great interview...so on the money.

I don't care who the fans were booing -I'm sure Rees took it as directed at him...and the kids still has the ice in the veins to drive them down and get 3, then to go on air and say EG is very talented and he is helping him out all he can. Shame on ND fans, thank you to Tommy rees, you earned your beer in my book :p

Nothing but thankful for the effort, focus, and determination that Tommy Rees has given Notre Dame over the last 3 years. When he completed that pass to John Goodman with negative 2 seconds on the play clock was... I don't even know. The least physically gifted QB throwing a crucial pass to a near forgotten and maligned 5th year WR who had to make a fantastic adjustment....

just guys with a will to win. Don't know how anyone can be anything other than happy right now.*

*except with Mike Golic Jr. who, much like last year, showed that he can block undersized players all day but gets utterly abused by anyone with NFL talent.
