Oklahoma State with that much seems like a misprint, but when you think about it, Gundy almost always has his program consistently competing in the Big-12. No conference title since '11, but he has 5 10+ win seasons in CFP era.

Take away just half of that ridiculous 2016 season, and the just as ridiculous Stanford game in ‘22, & ND is easily over 100 also.

Sounds like a good time to start the negotiations with B1G...

It's already happening. They run numbers on what value each team brings to the table and in what combination for each package configuration.

You don't think they brought Pete in to sign Boise did ya?

My hot take (that could be completely wrong) is that ND will end up joining the SEC.

No, I don't have a single source, just a gut feeling given the century+ of bad blood between ND and the B1G conference, particularly scUM blocking ND's previous efforts. "Ancient history" isn't really a thing in college football. And I'll even add that I'd prefer to join the B1G given our proximity and historical rivalries, if and when the day comes that our hand is forced to finally join a conference.

It would be full circle if ND decided to take the SEC's offer over the B1G

You want to see century + old hatred and bigotry, scroll down and tweet about Notre Dame and the SEC. The knuckle draggin klan are always there.

SEC territory is definitely the better player group to recruit from.
B1G definitely the better academics to be linked with (compared to SEC)
ND will never get the academic love from SEC nor the player recruiting pool from the B1G

probably heard Bama fans make anti-Catholic comments 5+ times during the 2012 national championship game. And those were the wealthy fans who you think would be smart enough to keep it to themselves. I think I’ll pass on the SEC lol.

For a kid who was 16 at the time and was in Catholic school in Italian/Irish Philly suburb since kindergarten, certainly was an eye opening experience lmao.

Barring a miracle that re-organizes D1 football into clean regional conferences, I don’t see how the Big Ten isn’t inevitable.

Academics = B1G
Proximity = B1G
Revenue = B1G/SEC

Given the value ND places on academics, I can't see the SEC being a real option. Except for scUM, ND has had a pretty decent relationship with B1G schools.

This is true. There's a reason ND is more hated than any other school, and it's not just historical success or being snobby. If that was the case, we'd be hated about as much as Michigan or USC. Catholic bigotry is a huge part of it.

Tons of people from where I grew up hate ND "because my dad and grandpa hated them". I wonder why?

Anti-Catholic bigotry is waning. Evangelical Christians now regard Conservative Catholics as allies. That covers a bunch of the anti-catholic bigots right there. And young people are far less religious so if their bigotry is less likely to be religious

Not sure where you are getting that second sentence from.
