Between KA and JJ, I honestly thought KAs film looked better out of HS. And that's no knock on JJ, that's how good KA looked.

Something to keep in mind is that while Austin didn’t play this year he was on Scout team and therefore competed against our #1 DB’s all year in game situations. And, from reports, was an incredibly difficult matchup.

You know - there hasn't been much of a 'stink' coming from the ND camp about PJ leaving and I'm wondering, players like Austin making PJ look better than he really was/is and that's why BK is letting PJ take his own course?.?.?

Relating to Scout team reps...

According to FEI, our win over Navy was the 3rd most dominant performance by any team in 2019. But of course we got zero credit for it.

The bowl victory over ISU was 74th. Michigan's win over us was the 31st.

Total BS regarding the lack of credit for dismantling a top 25 team.

Checkout 1st and 2nd most dominant performance. I'm thinking LSU may be able to put one up there tonight also?

Especially after they turned around and beat top 25 SMU the very next week. I still thinks it's pretty incredible how ND finished the season and got no credit for it. Hopefully we do when the final rankings come out.

Why even set yourself up for disappointment? The writing has been on the wall for 1/2 the season now...

Hanson said in his chat he's voting us 11th. So there's the highest possible and it'll probably be lower.

Baylor ahead of us would fry my butt. Their only claim is almost beating Oklahoma.

The BigXII was thoroughly embarrassed in bowl season, and we have better head-to-heads against Iowa State and Georgia. Oh, and one less loss. Really hard to see how we don't pass Baylor.

Michigan, Utah, Auburn, Wisconsin and Baylor should fall behind us, but my suspicion is they'll give us the finger one last time. Hell, with the Minnesota and Iowa wins, we might not actually move at all.

Well, the ISU game was a very impressive win, all things considered. That should move the needle.
Agreed, that SHOULD. Just feels like folks are out to prove a point against ND with regards to the polls this season.

The really frustrating part of this is that the team doesn't even get credit for the last six games from many in their own fanbase...

You might want to steer clear of the offensive coordinator thread for awhile.

ehh its actually quite comical seeing someone try and point to "facts" so confidently while not even using the right stats or completely omitting a game from his averages.

I'm reading through this thread and seeing many people pick Kizer as a guy who left too early. What might have been in 2017 if Kizer had came back and bought in to the changes? Is UGA and maybe even Stanford a win instead of a loss? Does Amon-Ra pick ND instead of SC?

Or perhaps his departure was necessary for 2017 to happen?

That would have made the 2017 an ungraded version of the 2015 team. Really good defense with a great offense.

That 2017 run game with Kizers ability to hit pretty much all of the passes and to go vertical...yowzers.

The great unanswerable question is how much the leadership of Brandon Wimbush vs. Kizer fueled the turnaround.

...and everyone would have lost their minds because I 100% promise, Wimbush would have left had Kizer changed his mind and returned.

Would Book have started in 2018 after that...

OR WOULD WE HAVE BEEN STARTING TRUE FRESHMAN PHIL JURKOVEC???

Perhaps, but one thing is certain. Wimbush would have been just as ineffective of a passer wherever he landed as he was here and UCF. Amazing athlete. Not a very good college QB.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I will say that he kind of got shafted by Heupel/UCF... they went away from their very successful QB-run stuff, which Wimbush would have been awesome with, in order to get Milton involved.

Then, when Milton takes the job... they start doing their QB run stuff again lol.

I will always wonder what they told Wimbush about their offense prior to his commitment.

No perhaps. He would have left.

As for the other questions, who knows or cares at this point. I'm just saying, the same fallout that happened with PJ would have happened with BW in Jan '17.

For anyone planning on attending the Wake Forest game in Charlotte in September, single game tickets are now on sale through Wake Forest. Only posting here because of how early.
