Hyperbolize much?

Missed out on the daily dose of koon and doom?

Wimbush shortcomings?

Kelly is STILL head coach?

OMG the OLine doesn't have a practice game to gel before they meet college football's all-time best defense?

Lack of veteran RB?

There's more whine on this site than MSNBC.

Streetman's Playoff Predictor suddenly rolled out:

2018: Clemson/Alabama/Ohio State/Oklahoma/Georgia
2019: Clemson/Alabama/Ohio State/Oklahoma/Georgia
2020: Clemson/Alabama/Ohio State/Oklahoma/Georgia
2021: Clemson/Alabama/Ohio State/Oklahoma/Georgia

Teams which don't give a sh!t about anything but winning:
2018-2021: Clemson/Alabama/Ohio State/Oklahoma/Georgia

Post-2022 Playoff Prediction:
None. NFL B-League formally comes out of the Closet.
(FSU, Miami, LSU, A&M, Auburn, OK State, PSU, Miss State, OleMiss, Florida, and new organization --- Southern California AC --- join to form 16 team league. Several "schools" rebuffed and thoroughly p!ssed off.)

"We were just convinced that this place was on the verge of something special", but what he really meant was "A&M offers me more money and I'm a money whore". Also, your new HC is the king of recruiting low character individuals so hopefully you can use your pay raise for bail money for your players.

It's just coach-speak, he left for money and because it's an easier situation being able to recruit whoever

So is this a slap at Kelly and ND? The Aggies on the verge of doing great things but ND isn't? It's odd that he left after one year and that new coaches who are putting together a new coaching staff feel ND is a place where they can poach coaches into making a lateral move.

https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/t...ains-why-he-left-notre-dame-for-texas-am/amp/

Pretty sure they gave him a big bump in salary and made him one of the highest paid in the country. I really can't blame him for that.

We'll see how they do, but the pond they fish from, is much larger than ND's.

Huge pay raise, work for a championship winning coach (as HC and AC), coach in the toughest league in football, no state income tax, more stability (Kelly is one 7-5 season from being fired), etc...

Yeah, it gets really old knowing before the season starts that the playoffs will consist of those teams every single year.

And I could definitely see a bunch of teams breaking off from the NCAA and forming a new division. They probably should and it wouldn't break my heart.

I'm going with Bama, Clemson, Washington, PennSt.

I'm also half inclined to put Miami in over Clemson.

I know I've seen brief discussion on here and maybe in a depth chart but I can't recall.

Do we have any idea who is returning kicks and punts for sure? Is Finke still PR? Just curious.

Finke is PR.

Coleman and Crawford have been looks at KR (maybe Finke too?)... KR seems like it was still a battle as of two weeks ago.

Really? I find this so interesting. I feel like we have a lot more flashier options than these two.

I would have assumed Lenzy, maybe C'bo, at least, from the freshman class would have been in the mix.

Didn't know where to put this, but Forbes came out with their best colleges list and I found the FBS schools in the rankings. Pretty interesting stuff. Louisville & Mississippi State take the cake as the worst power 5 schools academically. Bama's position is pretty ugly. Georgia was a pretty big riser up the rankings. The usual of Stanford, Duke, Cal, Northwestern, and Notre Dame being the best of the best.

Schools like Michigan and UNC ranked so high is just a freaking joke. Yes they are good academic institutions but they hide their athletes from those educations aggressively. I remember looking up Michigan's roster in the 90s and something like 75% were kinesiology majors. Virtually no diversity in areas of study for the whole team. The whole UNC thing should have them ranked at dead last out of pure principle. Screw those guys.

More relevant to me would be to rank the lowest denominator at various schools and evaluate how easy it is to skate by. Or like above, how diverse/rigorous are the degrees earned by graduating athletes. Take all the ND kids getting a top tier business degree against all the Michigan players all prepped to be PE teachers - but they are next to each other in this ranking? FUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKK Michigan.

Tuck's journey has been interesting to me. I've seen him comment openly a couple of times how he didn't really enjoy ND as a student and couldn't wait to leave but as time went by he gained a great appreciation and love for ND and now loves going back and misses it and such.
