For those wondering about Dex. He's been training with the team. Looks motivated in the video

I've apparently missed the crucial news. Is Dexter Williams going to be in ND uniform this season? I thought that I was reading IE gripers talking about losing guys like him and Hayes as the worst means of getting to 85.

a lot of the talking heads don't believe he will or at least thinking suspended for a while...tons of smoke no fire as of yet

Williams is still on the team and working out, as evidenced by him being pictured during the team's morning workout on Saturday.

IF Dexter is going to serve an in-house 5 game ban surely they just make it agains the weak team ND is expected to dominate.

Why wouldn't you do it that way?

He gets punished because he cannot pad his statistics against the weaker team whilst at the same time the team isn't short handed against the strong teams.

That's a pretty icky way of handling these things, IMO. And sends a terrible message to the rest of the team. A four-game suspension is a four-game suspension no matter who you're playing.
In this case, if Dex is indeed out four games, he'll miss Michigan and then three lesser opponents, and be back for Stanford and the meat of the season.

Just realized it's about 30 days until the CFB season starts. Went from zero to 100 on the hyped meter. This year has gone by in a blink so it felt like it was still a few months away.

For me this was last week. Already started planning our week 1 watch party with the wife.

Excited about ticket day, but sad Michigan is sold out. Still plan on taking the entire fam for the atmosphere and try to piece together tickets.

Think I'll pick up some FSU tonight.

Pumped myself. Gained a friend over the past year through another friend of 10 years. He is a MeChicken fan (really good guy). From New York, Cop, - true Yankee !!!!!

Anyway, talking to him couple of days ago, I would have never believed him if I didn't look it up myself that the Irish are a 2 point dog at home.....

It was last week for me. Been busting my ass every night when I get home trying to finish up the patio project so it doesn't interfere with Saturdays.

F@ck Michigan!

Long but good article on re-imagining the QB development model

https://www.ndinsider.com/football/what-reimagining-the-qb-development-model-means-for-notre-dame/article_1f803805-6184-51bd-8416-50f62593b410.html

Of the 23 Irish quarterbacks recruited in the post-Lou Holtz Era (1997-present) who have completed their college careers, only three exhausted their eligiblity at ND and as QBs. Among the 20 who didn’t, 11 transferred, six switched positions, one switched positions then transferred, and two went pro early.

That's typically the way it goes with QB's tho. The good ones leave early for the draft, the others leave to get playing time elsewhere. I doubt this is too abnormal.

Who are the 3 that have exhausted their eligibility tho? Rees, Quinn, and who else? I was thinking Jarious Jackson but wasn't he part of Holtz' last team?

He wasn't recruited in the post Holtz era. Though he is the last QB to play as a 5th year Sr. (His 5th yr was Davies' 1st)

I wonder if MVG counts being that he was recruited as a PWO and did receive a scholarship during his career.

Was it the immortal Evan Sharpley? He appears to have come back for a 5th year in 2009, though he recorded no stats.

Another reality check to get some people off Coach's back?

Getting a solid QB and keeping him is hard to do at ND.
