College football live discussing if ND were in sec. One guys says we go 6-6 in sec.

Also mention Golson, Daniels, and Smith (and potential sec dpoy) as starters on any team in Sec.

By joining the SEC do they mean ND would get to cheat and also have 125 players to choose from every year or ND would continue to do things the Right Way.

General team info

This will be the season where ND will have its national perception changed for the better, IMO. This is the first BK team that will have an experienced play-making qb with a lot of weapons around him. The defense has at least one elite player at each level and will be attacking and more physical.

Currently, it is pretty easy to pick apart ND from the team that was fielded last season - avg qb play and offense, along with a soft defense where the studs weren't really allowed to do what they do best. IMO, this will be the best overall team BK will have had at ND. Let's just see if they can navigate this damn schedule successfully...

no i thought it was funny because his exact statement was something like if they moved to the sec and kept their non conference schedule. well then you arent truly moving to the sec if youre still playing stanford usc etc in non conference. I thought sprinkling FCS opponents throughout the schedule was mandated to be in that conference.

I hate how much influence ESPN has. It's really unfair that they're looked at as the governing body of sports and have by far the biggest voice if not the only voice.

They clearly have an agenda, and most of these kids don't know the difference, and I don't blame them.

They need competition.

you mean after they bashed ND, and talked up the 6 sec teams joe shad had ranked ahead of us in his top 25, they should not cut to a commercial promoting the SEC network?

This thread reads like Kafka.

Seriously.

For those of you that don't want to look it up : " themes and archetypes of alienation, physical and psychological brutality, parent–child conflict, characters on a terrifying quest, labyrinths of bureaucracy, and mystical transformations. "

Stop watching ESPN.

Sure. Just LMK where else I can get some CFB programming at midnight...

HAHA no, but one analyst did mention that A LOT would depend on whose schedule ND was playing (i.e. a typical SEC schedule or a typical ND schedule (traditional games vs Stanford, USC, MSU, etc) plus the SEC conference games. I thought that much was a fair point.

you mean after they bashed ND, and talked up the 7 sec teams joe shad had ranked ahead of us in his top 25, they should not cut to a commercial promoting the SEC network?

FIFY -- otherwise, completely agree, agenda central

BC fans aren't happy about the 2015 Fenway game: BC fans already worried about Fenway Park ticket availability in 2015 | CollegeFootballTalk

I was hoping to go, but sounds like it will be a tough ticket.

Saw this. BC can't sell out a home game to save their lives now they're worried about getting tickets for Fenway. I can guarantee every fair weather BC fan (aka 95% of them) assumed this would be a home game and just found out about the 5k allotment.

City loves its pro sports but doesn't care in the slightest about its college ones. Can't even begin to feel bad for them.

Anything other than hockey anyway.

It is funny because the only analyst on ESPN's college football show who even knows any ND players is Jesse Palmer. The others literally don't know anything about the team, who has left, who is on it. They just talk in generalities and predict 8 win seasons every year even though we've averaged 10.5 over the last two years.

I don't know about that. Isn't Palmer the one that said BJ was our best cover corner last year in the bowl game? I lol'd at that statement. BJ and Russell switched who they were facing in the 2nd half of the game, with Russell covering Rutger's main receiver. KR told the guy "You're done for this game," and he was.

Not only that, but in halftime shows with John Saunders, Palmer loves to take subtle jabs at the Irish when he gets a chance. Saunders is right there with him too, usually with a big grin on his face. Not a fan of either of those guys.

Palmer's brother played at ND though, perhaps the "jabs" are pokes at Billy. In fairness if there is anyone in ESPN (besides Lou of course) who knows anything about ND its Jesse

Eh, I dunno, to me the Bachelor is nothing more than another former SEC player turned ESPN talking head that likes to rip the Irish when he gets the chance. He acted like he knew ND football and the roster during the bowl game, but he made some other mistakes aside from the BJax comment.

Palmer is actually one of the more Pro-ND analysts ESPN has. I really like his analysis.

Totally agree with this. It's like they have no clue wtf is going on with the team.

I don't think Paler is pro-ND all the time or anything (and there's no real reason he should be), but I agree he at least appears more knowledgeable of the current roster than most others. The BJax comment was inaccurate for sure, but it was rare to hear an ESPN guy mention someone on the roster not named Rees, Nix or Tuitt. Plus, that was the bowl game, and analysts typically go out of there way to pump up seniors for their last game.

I think some of you guys need to watch more of Palmer and Saunders during games and halftime. The Pinestripe Bowl was probably one of his nicer moments as he was a commentator for the game.

Palmer combined with Mayock in the booth would be audio chocolate.

I think Kirk Herbstriet is the best dude at ESPN. He's mostly neutral but definitely more pro ND then against us. He's optimistic and fair it seems like. I like more than anyone else.

This. I think Mr. Kirk who lives on Herbstreit is usually pretty fair, whether it's good or bad. He doesn't have to contribute to the "sensationalism" that everyone else at ESPN does in order to get his opinion out there. If he has a negative opinion, he doesn't go crazy with it, he just states the facts. If he thinks highly about something, it's the same way.

I'm telling you guys, Jesse Palmer brings the business. But yes, Kirk is easily in my top 3.

Palmer is Kirk Herbstreit Lite. He's usually pretty good, but he gets carried away close to the "sensational" side sometimes.

But I do like him more than most. And I like Joe Tessitore. I do not like the SEC, but I will watch the network just to see him running shit. Plus every weeknight game that he calls ends up getting batshit crazy.

Can we discuss our favorite members of the North Korean politburo next?

ESPN is the evil empire. Its interests directly conflict with ND's (and with anyone who pays a cable bill, or dislikes monopolies, etc.). We watch it when we have no other choice, but we certainly don't endorse anyone who works for it.
