Mike you messed up my man but all hope is not lost. I am very happy that you or others did not get hurt from this incident.
I hope that you learn from your mistakes and live a better life.
Mike you must realize that you are gonna be held to a higher standard. You are the star WR at Notre Dame.
You represent Notre Dame... Thee NOTRE DAME!!!
Now Mike you are gonna get punished one way or another thats for sure.
Accept your punishment and move on with your life.
Much Love from Hawaii!!!!!!

I think its a little ridiculous that you guys think he will be gone for the whole season. I am 21 years old i have made some mistakes in my life and i have learned a lot from my mistakes just like everyone in this world. He made a mistake and i think Kelly will give him his punishment and Michael will handle it like a man. I see Michael missing spring pratice and maybe the season opener. Kelly said he is already going to reinstate him. We are lucky Floyd even decided to come back this year when everyone wrote him off saying he was gone to the NFL. I think we all need to relax and just wait instead of losing sleep over this. Its not like he punched an opposing player in the face, or lied to the NCCA. Not saying a DUI is not serious at all it is dont get me wrong. But some of us are freaking out over something we cant control. Michael Floyd will be on the field for the 2011 season in my opinion but in the mean time Deion Walker where ever you have been hiding for the past 3 years its time to come out and play.
Frankly, reading this entire thread is why I remember why I don't post on here very often....
BGIF, you bring the insight to the whole discussion.
I've been through a DUI myself, and it ISN'T fun (obviously) but me? well I'm my OWN WORST ENEMY, let alone what Mike is going through right now. (meaning I beat myself up about it and did EVERYTHING I could do to fix it, including taking classes, counseling, etc...)
I'm not saying it's excusable, not by any means, but how many of us were calling him the Heisman favorite less than, 2 months ago and now he's an "idiot", "dumbass", "fool"....
Michael Floyd is human, we should all remember that. Humans make mistakes.
I think someone posted before that this was,
"one of the biggest black eyes in ND's history" well, if that's the case, then I'm alright with that.
Old Man Mike(one of my favorites) alluded to it earlier- Michael will fix himself, and "I'm sure the football team will be fine".
"A Man's virtues are written in water, while his flaws are carved in stone."
This has made me very aware that this quote is alive and well....
Can he still enter the draft or not?
If Floyd were to leave ND, he could end up in the NFL’s supplemental draft, since he has now missed the underclassman deadline to enter the regular draft (April 28-30). However, with the NFL’s labor battle still waging, there’s no certainty about when or if a supplemental draft would be held. Only the regular draft is guaranteed to occur.
Eight players have been selected in the first round of the supplement draft since its inception in 1977, but none since 1992. Scott Wright of NFLDraftCountdown.com said that in that past decade players generally are selected two rounds lower than what they would have been in the regular draft.
Floyd could also elect to transfer down to a FCS (Division I-AA) or Division II school to rehabilitate his draft stock or stay at ND and face his punishment.
If I was the guy who caught Floyd I would have drove him home. Thats the guy who should get the blame. Like, what your not an ND fan? Drop your plastic badge and do the best player in the country a favor.

While we have discusses a number of precedents with Res Life there's one other important factor. The leadership positions at Res Life have undergone a change recently. And like with the Supreme Court the impact is unknown at this point. Do they reflect the new President (Jenkins) rather than the previous one (Malloy).
Less draconian leadership might result in a less than hard nosed interpetation of the first two incidents which set the tone for the current situation.
Anyone here lurk the boards of other teams? Pretty funny to hear them say things to the effect of "probably won't miss any game time" or "will likely get the standard 1 game suspension."
Almost tempted to make an account to correct the ignorant USC and Michigan fans... but just not worth the time.
Wow. A .19 blood alcohol level and ran a stop sign and you want to state the officer is to blame and he should've let him off? That's disturbing.
I think he meant that majority of campus cops are Paul Blart-type guys with nothing better to do than crush a kid's dreams since they lost theirs years ago.
*Obviously Floyd did this to himself, and has nobody else to blame, I'm just understanding where the poster is coming from.
This is ALL Floyd's own doing. There is no blame to cops or whatever. He was drinking and driving. I don't care if it's an ND player or just some student. Horrible decision.
And the fact that he's been busted twice before on drinking charges just makes me question if he's got his head on straight. Yeah, we all get busted once...maybe twice...but 3 times?!? Come on, Mike.
I didnt say he should let him keep going. But maybe shut your radio off and call him a cab or something.
