I saw a snippet of one of the Poodle's press conferences on College Football Live (also known as Tim Tebow Lovefest Live). Here are some of the things he said:

- Our offense is "loaded"
- We're the "hottest looking" team they've played in "a few years"
- He basically said our defense sucks and they hope to exploit the weaknesses in the secondary.

I don't know if he usually does this or not. I know he said he used to hype up ND stadium and the campus to his players early on in his USC career then stopped doing it cause he thought it psyched his players out.

He was interviewed on the Dan Patrick show today and he stated he was going to take his players around the ND campus..

Pete Carroll would be worshipped here if he was NDs coach. I do think in a convoluted way theyve underacheived under him as crazy as it sounds but hes had teams that people thought could beat weaker NFL teams that havent won BCS titles

I don't know about that. He wouldn't have the same recruits coming to cold, academically challenging South Bend as he would to a warm, ball room dancing So Cal.

This a moot argument, as you may already believe.

The best college football team in history couldn't beat even the weakest NFL team. Each college football starting roster has a couple of studs. Each NFL team has an entire starting lineup of studs.

Or the Raiders (I am a Raiders fan). Most of USC's teams under Carroll could beat this years team. Most of the top 25 could beat this years team.

Just to clear this up:

Carrol specifically said that he took his players on a tour of campus (Grotto, TD Jesus, CHOF, etc.) his first year, then we rolled them up and sent them home.

He said he would NEVER do that again, and laughed at his stupidity for doing it the first time.

(Dan laughed at his stupidity for doing that as well.)

I absolutely agree. You could take last year's Detroit Lions team and they would kick the shit out of any BCS champ from the past ten years. The chasm between team play in CFB and the NFL is very, very large.
