Unfortunately, a lot of the crap going on at FSU doesn't really fall under the NCAA's realm of authority. They have little or no authority when it comes to simple bad behavior or even criminal behavior. They can do something about academic fraud, impermissible benefits, lack of institutional control as it pertains to academics, recruiting, benefits, and etc., but local police having a see no evil/hear no evil attitude towards athletes and letting them get away with anything, or a coach not disciplining kids and holding them accountable for their behavior are outside the NCAA's control.

Tell it like it is. Major college football generates a whole lotta money. The NCAA was created to get a slice of that pie, and some are saying, to keep student/athletes from getting their pie slice. Walking down the street with a piece of barbecue. Whether it's Oregon, Florida State, Alabama, and Our Mother - Mama keep shakin' your money maker!

Wow. What a press conference. And their starting QB is still day to day with an injury after not playing the second half of their last game.

Clemson on a bye this weekend and then travels to Tallahassee to pay a visit for some added salt.

It is incumbent upon the new HC to embrace the vets he inherited ASAP. If you can’t get everyone one the same page early, it can spiral out of control. I think it happens more than we fans know about in programs all over the nation. I know it happened w/ Chad Morris at Arkansas; although that paled in comparison to the rest of the horrible job he did. IIRC, BK even got some criticism early in his tenure for singling out the Weis recruited guys.

When a HC is brought in to revive a program, he’s likely inheriting a horrible culture. It’s still the coach’s responsibility to mend that. After attempts to do it, if certain veteran players still don’t want to accept the new culture, they should part ways.

Marvin Wilson has hurt his draft stock this year IMO. From a sure fire first rounder to an underachieving malcontent is not a good trend for future GMs who are prepared to invents millions in the right player. I don’t pretend to know the details, but I heard CFP analysts really down on his performance on the field this season. ND made him a non-factor. Now (again not knowing the details) he will likely be asked in draft interviews why he quit on his team. EDIT: correction...I just read where he was “out for the season” so I assume that’s health/injury-related vs an opt out.

I’m glad to see as it stands they are. They should be. I saw the Norvell quotes, but when a large sentiment of Clemson leadership maybe salty as I suggested, MAYBE Florida St has to make concessions. I’m sure Clemson isn’t motivated to reschedule and give up their open week advantage over ND prior to ACC-C game.

What if Clemson is so pissed where they demand the make up be a home game for them? Is Florida St willing to make any concessions to get it rescheduled is all I was suggesting.

Clemson offered to play on Sunday or Monday to allow for another round of testing to monitor for more positives besides the 1 from Friday (BTW how many did ND find out at game time vs USF? 6? And it was stilled played). Maybe they feel slighted at FSU’s unreasonableness.

I have no idea if any of the above is true or accurate. Maybe Clemson doesn’t need their back scratched. Just throwing out talking points about how the 35.5 point favorite may feel after traveling almost 400 miles to have the game cancelled 3 hours before kickoff.

If Clemson chooses not to play FSU on 12/12 then ND should be allowed to back out of the game against Wake. Allowing Clemson a competitive advantage over ND like that would be total BS. Why should ND be forced to play a makeup game before the ACCCG and not Clemson?

We met the standard to play and we should have played. If the standard to play was zero positive tests, then we wouldn't have played all season. The game was not canceled because of COVID-19. COVID-19 was just an excuse, and to be honest with you I don't think it has anything to do with their players. I have no doubt that their players wanted to play and would have played. And same with the coaches. To me, the Florida State administration forfeited the game, and if they want to play Clemson, in my opinion, they need to come to Clemson or they need to play for all expenses. Other than that, there is no reason for us to play them

If you read his quotes he says the guy showed symptoms but tested negative each test until after he was already in Tallahassee. Dabo is saying that they allow people with colds and ear aches to practices and play even with the negative tests.

I mean in any other year.... yes that kid travels and plays unless he is physically unable to perform. But this year has to be different.

It’s the first cancellation of an opposing team not feeling “comfortable” despite another team following safety protocols such as masking, outside meetings, distancing during travel with more busses, planes, etc. All other cancellations occurred when a team with multiple positives either had too few at a position or overall to play.

So it begs the question, a team is over a 5 TD favorite vs a 1-6 team, and the underdog wants to cancel because of one positive player on the favored team...what is their motivation? Did we all believe the Big Ten canceled their season in August due to player safety? And again restarted in October because so much changed that it was now safer?

It’s suspicious for sure. Out of all the cancellations so far, this one is unique. The likely outcome of the game cannot be disregarded here. Just as much as the agreed to play protocols that were followed per Clemson. I get that it’s unprecedented times and everyone should be sensitive to different view points. If agreed upon safety measures were met however and the game still wasn’t played, I understand skepticism too.

If anything else, if this controversy hurts either schools recruiting in some way, I welcome it. It also has to be resolved with a rescheduled game on 12/12 which is also net positive for ND. The questions asked and conference reputation gained if it’s not rescheduled has to be avoided by the ACC.
