Yeah... CONMEBOL and AFC should definitely be swapped. Hell, I think you could make an argument for AFC to get even less than that and give CONCACAF more!

For this World Cup, I'll be quietly rooting for Egypt to get through their group, Belgium, and Nigeria (only because of those dope uniforms).

Can't wait! Hoping they have a game or two in Vegas

Negative, they announced it, Los Angeles is the best bet for you. 3 Mexico sites, 2 Canada... the rest here. Only Los Angeles in the entire Southwest, interesting.

I hope LA gets a decent match-up or two... I'd love to go to a game. Could you imagine Scotland getting a game in LA??? O. M. G.

We got games in DC AND Baltimore! https://bleacherreport.com/articles...ost-sites-after-usa-mexico-canada-named-hosts

As the kids say, this is gonna be LIT AF!

Have they said how they will determine the host cities, and the number from each country?

I'm wondering if Canada and Mexico will each host matches at their three proposed sites, and then the US has to pick 10 cities after that

OR

If Canada and Mexico each get two host cities, and the US has to pick 12 after that

I can't imagine Boston, New York, Philly, Baltimore and DC all host matches.

My totally random prediction for 10 cities, with two additional at the end if the US gets 12 host sites:

1. Seattle
2. LA
3. Houston
4. Denver
5. Miami
6. Nashville
7. Atlanta
8. Boston
9. DC
10. Philly
*11. Dallas
*12. Kansas City

I think you could sub in Cincy for Kansas City, but I feel like they'd go with Kansas City to cover the middle of the country.

They already put the host cities out there I believe... my og post on this topic was in response to the bid team putting out a map with each host city highlighted. Of course now I can't find that post/picture...

That map shows 23 potential host cities, but the bid has to choose 16 from those I believe.

Yeah, there are 17 potential host cities in the US, but only 10 will get matches.

I think it's interesting how East of the Mississippi focused it seems... no Phoenix, Portland, San Jose, SLC, San Diego, Vegas, Minnestoa, STL, and others...

I just read where Chicago declined being a host city becasue it didnt like the transparency requirements they would have to file to FIFA, the most corrupt entity on the planet. LOL

Really wish we could have just gotten the bid to ourselves honestly... it's better than some other nation with no business whatsoever hosting it though.

Check out Cack's response two posts up. I was shocked too. I went to the Copa match there USA vs Costa Rica. Was an electric atmosphere for a Wednesday night.

Fifa is going to decide if all 3 host countries get auto bids

Official FIFA statement: "We have decided in the interest of fairness and equity to flip a coin to decide two auto bids. This process has already played out and Mexico and Canada are the winners. Since CONCACAF gets two auto bids we are cutting their further bids in half for this tournament so only one other team will qualify from the region. At this time we would also like to announce our full support of Panama, Jamaica and Honduras throughout the qualification rounds as well as express our gratitude to the United States for what is sure to be the highest grossing, most watched and best World Cup to date. Enjoy watching it from home you freedom loving fuck-tards."

Not sure if anyone saw, because of all the World Cup news and 2026 WC bid news, but Allegri revealed that he turned down the Real Madrid job. He wants to win the CL with Juve so bad.

I respect it but they got a lot of holes to fill. Marchisio (not that he has played much since his injury) is out right? Barzagli and Chiellini on their last legs. Dybala potentially leaving.

Looks like Celtic are about to finalize Odsonne Edouard for more than 9 million... that would absolutely smash the Celtic record and would be the second highest transfer fee ever paid in Scotland.

Back in March, Rahm Emmanuel's office issued a statement that they were not bidding to be a host city because FIFA was unable to provide “certainty” that Chicago taxpayers would not be affected if selected as a host city.

Soldier Field now seats 61,500 and if it isn't the smallest NFL stadium, it is the second smallest in capacity to maybe Jacksonville. It is also owned by the Chicago Park District and not the McCaskey Family, who owns the Bears. Fascinating arrangement as this is the largest football market considering NYC and LA both have two teams.

To my recollection, Chicago's failed Olympics bid a few years back was a victory for the city's residents as the majority of them wanted nothing to do with hosting the Olympics.

Maybe it is for the best.

I have never seen a third tier match in England, but I imagine it would be on par with Russia-Saudi Arabia.

Yuck.
