So do we just rest everyone next week or go for 3-0?
Yellows reset after the group stage, so those guys on a yellow should probably sit it out. If Paraguay manages to get a point from Turkey and we secure the top spot, then we can probably do a full rotation.

Edit: yellows appear to be Adams, Balogun, Richards, Antonee Robinson

I was surprised that Australia had more toughness in them to bang it out all through the 2nd half when we started to visibly fade out. Applause to our guys for reaching down and findng enough, but I was still surprised by Ozzies' grind-it power-through and our mild fade.

I need help on something I heard on TV and here on IE: It was said that since yellows will be wiped out after the coming game (as far as cumulation penalty is concerned) those guys should be sat out. It seems to me that's the opposite of what we should think: that is, --> another single yellow for any of them just gets wiped out for the next round like any other yellow. Since others are saying the opposite, I must not understand this. So help is needed -- help my curiosity please.

If you get two yellows in the group stage, you must sit out the next game. So if, for example, Balogun gets a yellow against Türkiye, he would have to sit out the first knock out game.

I understand why the rule is in effect, but I can’t stand that, theoretically, you could earn a yellow in the first game, and a yellow in the third game and you have the same punishment as getting two in one game.

It really should be three yellows in 4 games imo.

A gutless first half by Australia. The coach should be ashamed of his tactics. I am always happy to see a team lose playing those tactics. Once they brought some attack on a had a go it was relatively even.

First back to back wins for the US in a World Cup since 1930. Wasn't pretty, but Australia seems like a side that likes to bog you down and try to win ugly. We did what we needed to do.

This rule where you can’t cover your mouth or you get a red is absolutely insane. If you really are worried about players calling each other slurs, which I can’t imagine happens often, make it a yellow. A red for covering your mouth is absurd.

I forget Europe doesn’t have free speech so maybe they think this is more reasonable than we do lol.

This blonde guy on Paraguay (19 I think) is maddening now that I'm rooting for them. He's unbelievable at blowing past defenses with the ball but it feels like once he gets within 20 yards of the goal he has no idea what to do.

I was not excited for this world cup and am still not watching much, but it does seem to be generating the energy and excitement in the venues we were assured by europoors would not exist?

What's with the undercurrent hate for Lalas by 2 great players but rather shitty commentators?

Mea culpa. I always heard USMNT fans whine and complain about every coach. I always thought our talent was overrated and that was the problem . Now that we have legitimate top tier manager, we look really good. Maybe a big part was the coaching.

A lot of discussion on fans trying to cringe copy other teams / chants. We absolutely just need to lean into college football culture for stoppages and overall game atmosphere. Give me some Enter Sandman, Jump Around, etc.

Cultural influence is one of our greatest exports of the last century, may as well own it.
