Guess what? They'll keep winning the title every year.

The last time Bayern preemptively gave Heynckes the boot was the last time they won the treble, so... maybe this is a good thing? Would love to know why they keep firing a coach who's winning, though.

They aren't firing him. Heynckes has been pretty adamant that he is only staying through this season. He only came back because they were in such a bind when they let Carlo go and he wanted to help the club (and his friend Hoeness).

Where they screwed up was when Hoeness kept nagging Jupp to stay through next year, too, and by they time they accepted that he wouldn't do that, Tuchel had already (apparently) reached a deal w/ PSG. I was hoping they'd get Tuchel, even though BVB's board of directors paints him as kind of a dick.

Nothing wrong with being a dick at FC Bayern.

NYCFC vs Atlanta yesterday was one of the best MLS matches I've ever watched from a sheer talent perspective. and VAR got it right for once.

Timely.

FC Cincinnati had their stadium infrastructure funds approved by several Cincy groups yesterday, so construction has the green light pending the MLS bid.

The MLS bid is supposedly getting voted on tonight.

Getting reallllllly excited.

Forgive me Lion if you already shared... Any mock ups?? I really hope the new grounds have as much character as their current digs. I hate when a team moves from a stadium with tons of character and unique features into a new stadium that is kind of characterless and stale.

My west coast mind immediately went to:

"So is everyone just going to park in the Harlem River??"

Lol. I saw the club surveyed the 18K STH and like 85% of them get to the game via public transportation or means other than their motor vehicle. NYC is a whole different animal.

It's a 26K seater with ability to expand a bit more. Gonna be tough to get tickets to games because once the stadium is announced I am expecting the STH to go up significantly. They were approaching 20K, but have gone down because fans are frustrated with Yankee Stadium. Me personally, I like playing in Yankee Stadium. Don't get me wrong, will be happier in a stadium of our own, but it gives a true homefield advantage to NYC there because of it's dimensions.

If they had chosen the Newport, KY site, across the river from downtown Cincy, it would have been modeled after Allianz Stadium:

Now that it's going into the middle of an Urban area, it will be redesigned. No ideas what it would look like. Some have speculated that they will try to model something reminiscent of Cincinnati Music Hall, which is a block away (my note: could even be something that looks similar stylistically to ND Stadium).

Anyone following this Rangers madness?? Apparently, so far as I can tell (there is a ton of stuff swirling around) after the whooping they took from Celtic on Sunday their caption Lee Wallace and their long standing hero, Kenny Miller fought their manager. Rumors are Wallace held him to the ground while Miller proceeded to bite him on the leg... both are now suspended and may not play for RFC again... oh boy.

Most guys that *should* know seem to think it's a formality since the vote is already on the agenda. Don wouldn't be calling for a vote directly if it weren't a done deal. They'd be calling for a meeting with discussion if it were in doubt at all.

The question now is when the press release goes out about the party in Washington Park or Fountain Square. I'm hoping tomorrow, since this process has been torturous enough... hoping they throw everyone a bone and get to the good stuff ASAP, rather than dragging out the PR preparations for a week or two.

This is probably facetious, but everything I've read suggests £200M.

Manchester City could be set for a spending spree of up to £600m this summer, with Borussia Dortmund's Julians Weigl, Fred of Shakhtar Donetsk, Jorginho of Napoli, Jean Michaël Seri of Nice and Monaco's Thomas Lemar are just a few of City's targets.

They're likely to revisit Mahrez too and Leon Bailey.

Not even City will land all these guys, but they're likely going to get quite a few. I think the $200M figure seems more plausible, but at this point, who the hell knows. These summer transfer markets have been crazier as the years go by.

The amount of spending/wealth at PSG and City's disposal is gross. Terrible for soccer. Man City's 2nd best 11 could easily be a top 6 group.

Let's not act like it's just a City and PSG problem. Prices have gotten out of hand and no side in any league outside the top 6 will ever really be able to win the title in this day and age. Makes Leicester City's story even more remarkable.
