Surprised they are not applying for government aid, or holding the state hostage with threats of moving.

Tongue in cheek?

ESPN Layoff Of 300 Amid Subscription Decline In Cable TV Highlights Broader Changes
(Hartford Courant, Oct, '15)

The layoff will leave ESPN in compliance with a state economic development deal under which it received $10 million in state tax credits, spokesman Mike Soltys said. ESPN had to spend at least $175 million on Digital Center 2, the home of its SportsCenter broadcasts, and add at least 200 jobs for a total of about 4,000 — numbers the network said it exceeded by the time the building opened in 2014.

"Even after this action we will be above our state commitment and we expect that to continue," Soltys said Wednesday.

The state is not in position to verify that because the audits and payouts have not yet started, Catherine Smith, the state economic development commissioner, said Wednesday. Under the deal, ESPN is set to receive the $10 million over a six-year period starting next year.

"It's really a carrot rather than a stick," Smith said. "It does provide them incentives going forward."

Chris Spielman moves to FOX, will call NFL games | ProFootballTalk

Spielman leaving ESPN to call NFL and college football for Fox. ESPN losing all the good talent.

This guys my best-honest, enthused, good to the college kids and still critical,-great combo for an analyst. Seems to be a man of great integrity and would love him doing ND games. He's one of only a few that can do a game with his alma mater and show his pride but not screw the game up. He's been very good to Notre Dame.

I tuned in to what I thought was an OJ doc and instead got a doc covering the civil rights movement that tried really hard to mention OJ every ten minutes or so....

I'm honestly not sure if you're serious. This is a five-part series, two hours per part. Doesn't seem appropriate to judge it after the first 30 minutes of the first episode. They're setting the scene, providing context.

To their defense, they tell you that in the previews and everybody talking about it on tv said the same thing. I believe it evolves as the story progresses, but the moral of the story is that OJ was an Uncle Tom that didn't give two shits about the civil rights movement going on right in front of him. That lack of empathy has some loose ties to the fact that he's a sociopath. Which leads to why he became a murderer.

Oh... Spoiler alert. ;)

You don't need 45 minutes of 'context and scene setting' that is completely outside of the core subject matter, wooly even said he didn't care about it, so why then is the entire first episode about nothing but.........? Whatever, I'm done with this, channel changed, on something else.

I enjoyed the first part. I had no idea he was disinterested in being defined as a black man.

Agree, found it very interesting. Most people on this site probably didn't watch OJ play in college or the NFL, myself included. Thought it was very interesting.

Had no idea Ali and others reached out to him during the civil rights movement, but he declined to get involved.

Friends said he really changed once he started becoming famous. Wanted to be considered white and had a father that was gay.

Yeah didn't know any of that. Supposedly his dad was a drag queen.

30 for 30 is the one good thing left from ESPN besides live games.

I had never heard the recording of the 911 call Nicole had made. That was pretty scary how insane OJ sounded screaming in the background.

Espn is giving the Mizzou Protesters an ESPY.

You would think a bunch of people with affinities for media/journalism would realize what a terrible joke that would be.

This 5th part of the OJ documentary blew my mind. The jurors admitted they found him not guilty as payback for Rodney King.

I actually felt sick to my stomach.

I need to re-watch again from the beginning. I think it is totally fascinating.

Everything that you see just shows how his celebrity overshadowed every single piece of damning evidence.

Those were the sleaziest lawyers.

Darden was such an idiot. Unbelievable he let his ego get in the way of winning a conviction in the biggest trial in his life. It literally made the career of everyone on OJ's team, and led to use having to endure the Kardashians.

SMH.

Yeah, really sheds a light on our judicial process (obviously nothing is perfect). OJ being found not guilty was ridiculous as was him getting 33 years for what happened in Vegas (karma's a bitch). Really enjoyed the series.
